Welcome to Eagle Country Mrs. Moore!

NEW! Yearbook Pick-Up Information
Although this school year looked different, your MVMS yearbook staff still captured events, memories, and made a yearbook to tell the story of 2020-2021! It will be a record of everything great that happened all year long, and it will be a collector’s edition!
If you pre-ordered a yearbook, your student will receive it at textbook return:
- In-Person 8th graders: June 9 and 10. NOTE: 8th graders must have a cleared library account, all textbooks returned and fines paid; this does not include Chromebooks.*
- In-Person 6th graders: June 14 and 15
- In-Person 7th graders: June16 and 17
- Virtual students: all day June 11, or after school June 15 and 17, or June 18 and 21
If you are hoping to purchase a yearbook, they will be sold for $50 cash at the same textbook return dates, prioritizing 8th graders first.
8th Grade Promotion and 8th Grade Fun Day
This will be a traditional format with an audience and students crossing the stage to receive their certificate. We will be on the field and the event is for every 8th grader (both in-person and virtual learners).
- Begins at 9:00 AM on June 18th. Finished by 10:30 AM.
- Students are expected to be at school by 8:30 to report to their homeroom class where they will wait before coming to the field. Parents will report directly to the field. Gates will open at 8:00 AM.
- Recommended attire for students - this is an event to celebrate the transition to high school. Students should dress suitably for the event and the weather. Please keep in mind that it is morning and on the field, so will be chilly. Only flat shoes or very low heels are recommended as students will cross grass and walk up and down the stage steps.
Thursday, June 17 is an 8th grade fun day from 8:30-2:05 on campus for all 8th graders. The time on campus will include a practice for promotion, so we encourage the students to attend. We have some great activities like kickball, bingo, and crafts. Students will also have opportunity to sign yearbooks.
NEW! Attention OCIS-PE Parents/Students

NEW! MVMS PTSA News
It has been a great, long year for Mesa Verde’s PTSA. Many events have happened to benefit our school. Qi Yan created a new PTSA website to organize our association. Louise Edu hosted many successful Dine Out Fundraiser nights to help fund PTSA programs and also to help out our local community restaurants. Jenell Lanski helped the school revise the student dress code and welcome the 6th graders to MVMS. Michelle O'Connor-Ratcliff organized 8th grade promotional signs and their delivery. Tobey Tam held our first virtual Reflections Art program. And we helped support other school programs such as the Food Drive, Staff Appreciation Week, Red Ribbon Week, and 8th Grade Promotion.
PTSA would like to thank all our volunteers – parents, family members, teachers, administration, community partners/vendors, and students. This year we started our annual PTSA awards to honor those volunteers who have gone above and beyond. Please help us to congratulate:
Outstanding Teacher Award: Kelly Kangas (VP, Membership)
Very Special Person Award: Jing Wan (Treasurer)
Honorary Service Award: Qi Yan (Website)
