District Plan
1. The last day for new eLearning will be May 21st.
2. Fourth nine weeks grades will be stored June 1st. Be sure you have looked over the new grading policy to ensure you are grading according to policy.
3. Reading summer camp for identified 3rd graders may possibly take place the last two weeks in July and the first week in August. (This is not set in stone.)
4. We may possibly be able to offer some small group tutoring this summer. Again, this is not set in stone. Many of you have let me know that you would be willing to do this- Thank you!
5. Everyone will begin full time hours back on May 4th. These full time hours can be a mixture of work from home and work at school, and he wants us to continue to social distance as much as possible. This does not mean that we will all be back everyday. Teachers will continue to teach remotely, but you will need to come to school to close out your rooms and do some things for the end of the year. More on this below.
6. Buidings will be open Monday-Thursday and closed on Fridays beginning next week. Mr. Binnicker asked that no one come to school on Fridays so that we can save on energy. The school will be closed to everyone each Friday. Students will receive a double portion of food on Thursdays so that they will have for Friday.
7. Award's Days will be virtual. We are in the process of thinking about this and what this should look like. Right now, our thoughts are that we could record each grade level's teachers giving awards and have a slideshow for each grade level with the student's pictures and award's listed. We welcome your thoughts and ideas on this!
Final Student Pick-up
May 20th: K4 and K5
May 21st: 1st and 2nd
May 27th: 3rd and 4th
May 28th: 5th
We are going to see if we can get the brown grocery bags so that each child's belongings are in the bags. Give us feedback on this plan if you have any thoughts.
Since your packets did end on May 15th, our thought is that you could use the next four school days to do some things with your kids that wouldn't require them to pick-up on the 15th. Let me know if this is a possibility.
Classrooms
1. Take all of your books off of your bookshelves so that they are easier to move out into the hallway. Use the extra time we have to go through your books getting rid of old books, labeling books, etc. Share books that are too hard or are never read with other teachers.
2. Clean off all shelves and clean out! We have extra time to get rid of materials and items that are not needed so that classrooms are easy to clean. With this, please help as much as you can if you have lots of trash to take it out to the trash bins in the bus circle.
3. Move any items that you can into the hallway outside of your rooms to help our custodial team.
