Early Life of Hildegard von Bingen
She was born on September 16, 1098 in Germany. She was born into a very noble family as the tenth child. She had "visions" at a very young age so her parents offered her to the church.
She had spiritual visions from an early age which lead to her parents offering her to the church.
She took her vows to become a nun at fifteen and then became the anchoress at thirty-eight.
She was also an artist, a poet, and a theologist.
Some of her most famous music was the music she did for Ordo Virtutum. She is still really famous for being one of the earliest female composers.
She died September 17, 1179, at the age of eighty-one. She died of natural causes (old age).
