Pre-K Updates
November 2021 Edition
Ready Rosie
ReadyRosie has Professional Development and training built into their website. If you have questions on how to set up your class, invite parents, or make playlists just go to the resources link to find what you are looking for. Need more? ReadyRosie also has a YouTube Channel. Click on the link below to view all of the videos that are available to you through YouTube. If you are new to PreK or need a refresher on how to use ReadyRosie, the full training is available on both the ReadyRosie website and on the YouTube channel. It is linked in the November PreK Updates. If you have not invited parents to ReadyRosie yet, please do so by the end of the first week of November. Family Engagement is a requirement for our High-Quality Pre-kindergarten program. If you need to resend some invitations, the video in this newsletter will tell you how.

Region 10
Irving ISD is a part of the Region 10 PK CoOp. Through this CoOp, most of the PD opportunities provided by Region 10 are either FREE or at a minimal to low cost. Below are upcoming PreK professional development opportunities for teachers and administrators

Pre-K New Teacher Cohort - 2641958 (3rd session 12/2)
Savvas - Three Cheers for PreK!
Savvas Three Cheers for PreK! has online webinars and interactive videos that let you choose what you want to learn about the program and its features. Click on the link below to view videos on a Day in the Life, a Digital Tour, Additional Features, a Brand New Start, or all of the above.
Heggerty YouTube Channel
Did you know that Heggerty has its own YouTube Channel? Heggerty has uploaded Skills Tutorial videos in English and Spanish to support teachers with their implementation of the lessons. They also have videos answering questions that they have received from teachers. Please remember that instruction is best when it comes from you. These videos should be used to enhance your instruction and not to be shown in place of you facilitating the instruction. The link to Heggerty YouTube page is below. I have also included a video explaining the importance of phonemic awareness and why it is imperative that it is taught daily. The videos have also been added to our district curriculum.
What is Phonemic Awareness?
Circle Data
The BOY Circle Assessment window has passed. Now is the time to use the data to intervene in areas where students are struggling. Parent reports should have gone home with each student. The reports have activities for parents to do with their child at home to improve in areas that students need support. CLI Engage also offers activities and instruction for RTI and small groups. Below is a link to Family Engagement Resources from CLI Engage.
