#VAis4Learners Innovation Network

Monthly Cohort Update - May 2019

Big picture

Welcome to the Virginia is For Learners Innovation Network Newsletter

This is the first newsletter of the Virginia is for Learners Innovative Network. The coaches at ALP (Advanced Learning Partnerships) meet every other week to share progress from the school divisions we are working with and we decided we needed a more effective way to share the fantastic work going on across the network. This brief update is designed to share some of those success stories, pose requests to the network, and help you plan your own Virginia is for Learners initiatives. We hope you find this information helpful, but we know you already receive a lot of email, so if you prefer not to receive this monthly update, please select the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the newsletter. You can also forward this newsletter to interested staff who may want to subscribe.

Thanks!

The ALP Team

How do you PBL?

Several divisions in the network are focusing on incorporating PBL strategies to provide more authentic, relevant learning for students. Some are at the beginning stage, while others have already gone down that road and have stories to share from their journeys.. Please help share your experiences with divisions considering PBL. What do they need to know? How can they prepare teachers, administrators, students, and parents? What structures should be in place now to make PBL successful in the fall?

We didn’t have time to schedule a webinar on the topic, so please join us on this FlipGrid and share your ideas, experiences, and sage advice. Record a short video (up to 5 minutes) or share this link with others in your division. Let’s generate a PBL how-to guide for #VAis4Learners!
