Mrs. Baker's Class Newsletter
We will be taking our Money test and Spelling test before our Field Day activities.
Test Ahead! Alert! The test is on identifying coins, counting money, having them show 3 ways to make the same amount, Showing them coins and asking them if Jimmy can buy that item. Adding up two different sets of coins and asking who has more money. If you get a chance make sure they are solid over these concepts before Friday. Thanks so much.
Field Day on Friday! Please inform our students that on FRIDAY, due to Field Day activities which will be set up in the Gym, students will need to go straight to their own classroom before school. Gym will be CLOSED. Remember that doors "open" at 7:10. Please wear comfortable shoes and our class t-shirt. An extra water bottle possibly as well.
The schedule for each grade is listed below. In order to make this field day run smoothly, we will be asking for parent volunteers to help run each of the stations, in addition to our 5th grade helpers! Please sign up online
(https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0a44a5af29a1f85-2019 ) if you can commit to helping us at any of the following sessions on March 15th.

Mrs. Gold came in and spoke about "How the heart works." We are so lucky to have expert parents at our school. Please let me know if you can come in and speak to the class. What are you an expert in? We want to know! Our kids will remember this for the rest of their lives! Especially your own kids!
We are needing another bag of M and M's and Skittles for after the break. (It helps them with visual representation while learning their multiplication and division examples)
We will also be needing a box of Cookie Crisp cereal that will also be used as a division model representation.
Please let me know if you can donate.
We are having another sub tomorrow. The team is having a planning day. Please talk to your child about being respectful and polite to our subs. They did great last Friday and she gushed over them! That made me very very happy!

The wellness committee wanted to implement recess coverage for teachers once a month. We did not have a lot of response from the first send out of the sign up genius. I think some of them were not forwarded to all of the classroom parents. Can you send the links to your teams and have them put in an email or post on their blogs?
