Senior Planning to Attend CF for College?
CF will be on campus, Monday, February 10th at 9:30 am in Lab C208 for our senior students that would like to enroll as a freshman student for the 2020-2021 term.
Apply for free! They will be waiving the $30 application fee for all applicants on this day.
Please make sure you have your social security number and learner’s/driver’s license with you for this event.

Make sure to Wear Your School ID!
There are discipline consequences for not wearing your id cards to school. Please be aware there is a fee for replacement id cards if you lose yours so please be conscious of your cards. If you need a replacement, please see Mrs. Tedder in Guidance. If you have questions concerning the consequences, please contact the Discipline Office or your grade level dean.
Student Summer Opportunity!
The City of Ocala has developed an amazing summer opportunity for 25 students.
WHO: Students ages 16-19 who live in the Ocala city limits with a focus on those residing in census tract 18 (see attached map).
WHAT: Ocala Future Leaders Academy
WHEN: June 1, 2020 through July 24, 2020 (20-25 hours/week). Deadline to apply is February 28, 2020.
WHERE: City of Ocala (various departments). Students eligible for a free city bus pass.
WHY: To develop employability skills (2 weeks) and then transfer into a City of Ocala position (6 weeks). Students will be paid $8.56 for the entire 8 week program.

There are also two information sessions scheduled at the Lillian Bryant Center, Thursday February 6, 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and Thursday February 13, 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Even if you are planning on attending college out of state or going in the military, I suggest completing the application. If something happens and you return to Florida, you will not get the scholarship money if your application was not filled out while you were in high school.

Rotary Scholarship
Applicants must:
- Be a residents of Marion County,
- Have been enrolled in either a public or private high school in Marion County for one academic year immediately preceding their graduation,
- Have maintained a grade point average of “B” or better (3.0 or above on a 4 point scale) through their junior and senior year to date,
- Provide evidence that they have been accepted for enrollment (or pre acceptance) at an accredited college, university, junior college or technical school,
- Provide a one page typed autobiographic sketch as outlined above,
- Provide at minimum a 500-600 word essay (as outlined above) that describes what “Service Above Self” means to you, (700 maximum word count)
- Provide a sealed official transcript of high school grades,
- Be prepared to talk about your essay to a panel of judges. (Dress for all interviews to be “Smart Casual”)
- If chosen as a recipient of this scholarship, be prepared to present your essay to the Rotary Club at their luncheon meeting. (Dress for luncheon to be “Smart Casual”)
Florida Engineering Society
The deadline for Florida Engineering Society (FES) scholarship applications is coming up. FES offers scholarships for graduating high school seniors and university students interested in pursuing a career in engineering.
This year, six $3,000 scholarships will be awarded at the state level for high school seniors and two $1,000 scholarships from our local FES chapter are available for eligible students from Marion, Citrus, or Levy County.

Marion County Chapter of the Charmettes Scholarship
1. Scholarship application must be received or postmarked by March 1, 2019.
2. Three letters of recommendation of which one should be from an educator and one from a community leader (Example: clergy). The third may be from other appropriate persons other than relatives who can speak to your character, qualities, and career aspirations. The letters must be signed and dated and include the person’s name, title, address, phone number, and relationship to you.
3. High School Transcript including freshman thru first term of senior year.
4. An essay, typed on a separate sheet, of approximately 300 words that gives reviewers additional insight about you not covered in other sections of the application. Examples might be educational/professional goals, special skills, talents, and/or your motivation for seeking this scholarship.

2020 David Baillie Memorial Scholarship ($2,000)
Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to the field of agriculture through involvement in the Future Farmers of American, 4-H, or The Southeastern Youth Fair, or through proven experience such as actual work in agricultural or animal care activities as well as or the study of the biological or physical sciences at the high school level. Some examples of work experience could include, on a family farm, at a veterinarian’s office, volunteering at an animal shelter or for an animal rescue organization. •
Applications are due to the Foundation Office by 4:00 pm on Friday, March 6th, 2020. Application is attached below.

Ocala Chapter – 3-053 FL
As Scholarship Chairman of the Ocala Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, I am writing to inform you of a $500.00 college scholarship, which our chapter will be awarding this year.
The scholarship is available to any student that will be attending a college starting the Fall 2020 semester. All applicants must also be residents of Marion County. A completed application, which is also attached, must be submitted no later than March 16, 2020 to the following address:

The winner of this scholarship will be notified by April 15, 2020.
Along with submitting the application, applicants must also submit the following:
An essay from the applicant setting forth their career objectives
Official transcript of grades
Two letters of recommendations
A list of extracurricular activities, clubs, honors received, etc.
Prior scholarship winners may also apply for a re-award by sending a copy of their college transcript, a letter requesting a re-award, and the above listed items no later than March 16, 2020.

Nutrition Association Scholarship
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Marion County School Nutrition Association is sponsoring two $1,000.00 scholarships to Marion County Public School students who will continue their education in either Culinary, Food Science, Nutritional Sciences, Hospitality, Fitness & Wellness, or related field.
The student must work toward an Associate, Bachelor’s Degree or higher and meet the following criteria:
APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS
To qualify for a scholarship, you must:
1. Be a graduating high school senior from Marion County Public Schools OR have earned a GED certificate and be a high school student.
2. Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent) OR a GED average standard score of 470 or higher.
3. Attend a culinary school, college, or university and pursue a degree in either Culinary, Food Science, Nutritional Sciences, Hospitality, Fitness & Wellness, or related field.
4. You must be a Marion County resident

J Rocks Scholarship
Scholarship Criteria:
▪ Applicant must possess a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale
▪ Applicant must be a graduating senior who will attend a 2-4 institution as a full time student
▪ Applicant must include a 500 word essay on your beliefs relative to volunteerism and commitment to the community
▪ Applicant must complete the application and submit by the deadline
▪ Applicant must submit an official transcript in a sealed envelop
▪ Applicant must submit a head shot picture (picture will not be returned)
▪ Applicant must submit 2 letters of recommendation from such people as the school counselor, teacher or coach (not a family member)
