11th Grade Information Night

Junior Information Night was held Wednesday, 11/18 for both students and parents. Topics included senior year academic planning and post-high school plans. In addition, the Admissions Game gave students and parents a glimpse into factors used for college admissions. Juniors will be asked to sign up for a college meeting with their counselor beginning in March.

Financial Aid Night

Financial Aid Night was held Wednesday, 12/2 for parents of freshman through seniors. We had two speakers, Gina Anderson, a financial planner from Ameriprise, and Gabriella Santos, a financial aid counselor from Seattle University. Materials on Financial Aid are available in the counseling center.

Counselors in the Classroom

The counselors have recently introduced the 9th grade World History classes to Naviance (college and career database and application program). All 9th grade students have received their username and password and have logged into the program. They completed two surveys: The Learning Style Inventory which gives a summary on the environment and atmosphere where students best learn and the Career Interest Profiler which assesses students preferences for particular skills and possible careers. Take a moment to ask your child about their results.

Career Update

We are continuing to build connections with our Kennedy Catholic alumni, parents, and community to help expose students to different career fields. We have lined up a number of presenters to share their experiences with students in classrooms, and we are continuing to develop internship opportunity ideas for students to gain real-world work experience. In the coming months, we will be surveying students to collect data on what types of career experiences they would like to see offered through Kennedy Catholic and which career fields have the most interest. Our team of faculty and staff are working hard to continually provide more opportunities to our students and help them prepare for their futures after graduating from Kennedy Catholic.
