News to Know...
Field Day - Dress for comfort for Field Day! Appropriate length shorts (to the knee) or "yoga" pants and a Belair shirt are accept
able. Encourage students to wear tennis shoes and bring in a change of clothes! Don't forget sunscreen for yourself!
EOY Lock In - All volunteers come to Emily Robert's room on Friday, May 13 at 8:00 for a quick meeting about the Lock In this Friday night!
Field Trips - There are lots and lots of field trips scheduled for the end of the year! Also make sure Nikki knows where you are going and when, since it could affect students who need medicine midday. It's always a good idea to call First Student the day before your field trip to confirm your bus and the time of arrival! Make sure you take pictures! These would be great in the yearbook.
EOY Checklist - I will check with teachers on their plan times on Wednesday, May 18 to see if they are ready to sign off on their checklist. If you are ready before that time, let me know and we can sign off early. Staff can keep both their key cards and room keys at this time.
Staff with laptops can "check out" their laptop for the summer. Just write it on your EOY checklist that you will be taking it home.
Class Lists - These need to be completed by Monday!
Orders - Orders are due to Valerie by Friday, May 13. All certified staff will have $300.00 to spend.
Positive Office Referrals - Keep them coming! Extra copies are available in the office. The smiles they are putting on the kids' faces is priceless!
General Reminders -
* IC updated at a minimum of the 15th and the end of the month
* Websites kept up-to-date
* Remember to use pre-corrects, Belair B.E.S.T. matrix language, Positive Office Referrals, and Bulldog Bucks! 4:1 is our goal with all kids!
* Newsletters can be turned in as a paper copy or emailed as a digital copy. I prefer digital!
SMILE! You just got a Positive Office Referral!

Open Enrollment Information
April 20, 2016
Dear Colleagues:
Welcome to the 2016-2017 Benefits Open Enrollment. Open Enrollment is the period where you can make changes to your benefits coverage for the upcoming year. Changes can include electing, changing or dropping a benefit plan, enrolling or dropping an eligible dependent, electing the Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), or electing or dropping a Voluntary benefit plan such as Supplemental Life Insurance, or Voluntary Short Term Disability.
Open Enrollment is mandatory for all district employees working 20 hours or more per week and eligible retirees. You must take action and select benefits or waive coverage; your current elections will not carry over to the upcoming year. This is your only opportunity to enroll or make changes outside of a qualifying life event. Changes made during the open enrollment period will become effective July 1, 2016. Please review the Open Enrollment documents on our website which outline important plan information: www.jcschools.us/Page/12426
What’s New for 2016?
There are no medical plan or rate changes for 2016-2017. There will be carrier and rate changes for dental, vision, and all supplemental insurance plan options. Current supplemental insurance plans will not be able to continue with Guardian; you can elect a similar plan with the new carrier.
There is a one-time guarantee issue of up to $100,000 for Voluntary Life Insurance. This means that you will not have to answer any health questions or complete an Evidence of Insurability form to be approved for the requested coverage amount up to $100,000.
Open enrollment is a good time to evaluate your plan choices and make sure you enroll in the options that best suit your needs.
Open Enrollment Process
