Your OCHS Library Has a New Look

Come Check It Out

If you've not stopped by lately, you're missing out.

We've weeded the collection and brought in tons of new items. The whole library has a new look and feel. Come in and browse the shelves. Sit a spell and read in the reading chair or on the reading couch. Use a desktop, iPad, or netbook. Find a quiet table and complete your classwork. Ask us to help you find the best resources for that project or assignment. We've lifted check out limits for patrons in good standing. So, if you need or want five books, check out five books. As long as you don't have overdues or fines, you can check out as many books as you need. We are here for you.

Watch for our monthly events.

  • October saw "Books Are Bootiful" where checking out a book got you a treat and returning an overdue or admitting the book was lost got you fine forgiveness.

  • All through November we are offering our "Give Thanks for Books and Be a Blessing" event. You can pay your fine in pop tabs. Owe a 50 cent fine? Bring us 50 pop tabs, and we will call it even. The pop tabs go to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass.

  • The first week of December, we will host a holdiay themed Scholastic book fair. Great items have been promised to us.

Changing Book Displays

Things to Notice

Changing book displays keep things fresh. Currently we have a display of books for those of you who loved the Hunger Games series and the Mathched trilogy.

In honor of Veteran's day, we also have a display of World War II related books -- both fiction and non fiction.

If you sometimes have trouble finding a book to read, try www.whatshouldireadnext.com

Check out our informational display at the library corner. There are reminders and directions there for your online OCHS library available via our Follett Destiny and Follett Shelf links on the school web page.
