Welcome to the last week of Term 1. It's certainly been a term of changes and challenges. Fortunately, we have managed to juggle the children and staff absences, keeping the school open and supporting learning from home as needed. Thank you all for this. It's a great show of how Spring Creek School and our community live our vision of Ako ngātahi kia tupu tātou - Together we learn - Together we grow. Together we make continue to make a positive difference for our tamariki.
Thank you also to everyone who has supported us with our shower bomb fundraising. It's been great to get such positive feedback. The final day for returning these is tomorrow. Please return any unsold bath bombs and the money from any sales to Cara in the office. We will let you know how much we raised once we get everything back and counted up.
Congratulations to Te Tipu class and Mrs Askin-Mills who entered a Seaweek Competition earlier in the term. They won $500 for the school. We are looking at spending this on resources for our outside learning areas.
We have a planned Kaitiaki Working Bee on Thursday 14 April from 9.00 am. The children are working on some exciting projects around our Kura. Clearing our old edible gardens area, ready to convert this into a butterfly and bee house as well as adding stones and dirt to our planter boxes, ready for planting these out. We would love you to come along and help out for an hour or two, make sure you bring your gardening gloves.
Next term we will be looking to be able to have whānau back onto site. Our Whole School Hui is on Monday mornings from 9.00 - 9.30 am fortnightly on even weeks next term. We would love you to pop in and join us for these.
Our Year 6's begin a mural project for the end of our administration block. KiwiCan secured funding for the community project last year, and we're excited to be working with Kate Vavasour on this. Stay tuned for updates on their amazing work.
We finish for the term on Thursday 14 April and start Term 2 on Monday 2 May. Stay safe and have a great break.
