A Note from Mrs. Donnell
Today is Grandparents’ Day and the mid-term mark for our first 9 weeks at CCS. Parents will receive Mid-Term reports no later than Tuesday of next week. Remember that you don’t have to wait until then to check your students’ status, you may use FACTS (RenWeb) to check in on your students anytime. ILEARN scores were sent home this week from last spring’s testing sessions (2018-2019 3rd - 8th graders). We are still learning how to interpret the scores, but if you have questions, please feel free to contact me and I will try to help.
We are so grateful for our PTF and their wonderful Grandparents’ Day breakfast event. We hope everyone enjoyed the fellowship and our chapel service. Grandparents play a vital role in the development of all children and set a Godly example for generations to come. Thank you all for joining us on Grandparents Day!
In Christ’s Love

After School Pick-up Procedure Reminders
3:00 pm All car line pick up students will be dismissed via walkie talkie to the car pick up line
3:00 pm All “inside” pick up students will wait in their classroom for their parent/guardian to come to the classroom door. All students should already have their items packed and ready to go. Parents/Guardians should not enter the classroom at dismissal time.
3:20 pm Any student who is not picked up by 3:20 pm will be sent to After Care for parent pick up. After Care cost is $7/day
If you are picking your child up during school hours, please come to the main office and sign them out. The office will call them down for you to pick up.
Parents/Guardians who wish to speak with their student(s)’ teacher will need to schedule an appointment with the teacher in advance. (24 hour notice is our preference)
CCS thanks you in advance for your cooperation. We want to ensure that everyone is safely picked up and that each teacher and parent has the appropriate time and environment to prepare to discuss academic/behavioral issues.

Hot Off The Press - Teacher's Favorite's List
God has blessed us with INCREDIBLE Teachers and Staff! The PTF has done some extensive research to learn a little more about these amazing people... (actually, we just had them fill out a questionnaire)!
Please use this list as a resource throughout the year to surprise and encourage them (Birthdays, Christmas, or anytime you want to show them you love and appreciate them)! This is an easy way to show our teachers and staff how much we value who they are and all they do for our children. Thank you! - PTF Leadership Team

Join Matt Chandler, Teaching Pastor of The Village Church in Dallas, TX, as he walks us through this most intimate of all Paul's letters and paints a beautiful picture of what it is to be a mature Christian.
The story begins in Philippi where Paul introduces three individuals that were all enslaved by the kind of things that we often choose over the gospel: Lydia, the Business Executive, The Little Slave Girl, and The Hard-Working Jailer.
Their lives portray dysfunction and emptiness but are totally transformed by the Gospel. True joy and Christ's love begin to live within them, giving them a life of purpose. In fact, Paul himself was enslaved and then by God's grace and mercy he could pen these popular and profound words: To Live is Christ and to Die is Gain. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
