Stephanie Theis, Assistant Principal
Hi everyone - My name is Stephanie Theis. I am finishing up my doctoral program through William Woods University. I have lived in the Northland since the 1st time the Royals won the World Series. My family consists of my husband, Tim; my children Andrew (Andy), Josie (daughter-in-law), Zach, and Marcus; and my puppies, Truman (Mizzou) and Boomer (Missouri State). Andrew (2012 grad) and Josie are newlyweds and live in Parkville. Zach (2015 grad) will be a Senior at Missouri State. Marcus will be an 8th grader at PCMS. My husband works in the construction field and is a retired Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran (24 yrs) from the Kansas Army National Guard. We call Platte City our home, and we love it here! Generally, we hang out on our back deck and spending time with our kids, but we also love going into the city for fun. We love museums, parks, going to the movies and locally owned restaurants. One of our favorites in Cafe Trio, which is just off the Plaza. I enjoy cheering on the Royals and Chiefs, but also Sporting KC. One of my favorite coaches is reitred coach, Bill Cowher, so I do have a special place in my heart for the Steelers. I am looking forward to serving alongside everyone and getting to know each of you, not just as teacher, but also as a person outside the class. GO PIRATES!!
Stephanie Richison, Social Worker
I have been married to my husband Dan for 12 years. I am originally from Boston (Go Sox and Pats! Sorry, only KC team I root for is Sporting) Dan and I have 3 kids-Tyler, Wesley, and Isabelle. In my spare time I enjoy baking, reading, watching my kids play soccer, running, and anything Harry Potter!
Yvette Greco, Forgein Language
My name is Yvette Greco and I’m very excited to be teaching World Languages and Spanish for Platte County.
I am originally from Los Angeles, California. I taught for 12 years in California, and I have a teaching credential from California State University, Los Angeles. I am also certified in Missouri to teach Spanish K-12, Grades 1-6 and Birth -3rd grade.
We moved to the Midwest ten years ago when my husband accepted a teaching position at Benedictine College. I became a stay at home mother to my three young children who are now 14, 12, and 8 years old.
I began substitute teaching for Platte County Schools two years ago, and working in the Platte County District was such a great experience that I knew I wanted to resume my teaching career here.
I really look forward to teaching World Languages and Spanish at Barry and Platte County High School!
James Miscavish, English
My wife and I are excited to be joining Pirate Nation! We have two sons who will be joining the district with us.
We've lived and taught in St. Joseph for the last 14 years, but it will be nice to be teaching a little closer to home since I grew up in North Kansas City. My family loves to hike in the mountains and play video games together. We all love Star Wars and superheroes and reading. This will be an amazing new journey for our family.
Aimee Wilson, English
My name is Aimee Wilson and I am an ELA teacher. I have been teaching since 2005, and I have taught both middle and high school English.
I am married to Josh Wilson, another new teacher here at PCHS, and we have one son who will be turning 11 on the 4th of July. We live in St. Joseph with our three dogs. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, watching movies, playing sand volleyball, canoeing, traveling, and going to concerts. My favorite sports teams include Sporting KC, KC Royals, Chiefs, Mizzou Tigers, and the Kentucky Wildcats.
Rebecca Strobbe, Social Studies
My name is Rebecca Strobbe. I was born in Kansas City, Missouri and lived most of my adolescent years in Independence, Missouri. I am the oldest of 9 (step/half/adopted siblings) so have a huge family! Growing up I played competitive basketball which allowed me to see a good majority of the United States. Traveling has now become a passion of mine, and I am just beginning to explore new destinations as an adult. Basketball also gave me the opportunity to earn a full-ride scholarship to Rockhurst University where I studied History and Secondary Education. I graduated with my bachelor's degree in May of 2015 after completing my student teaching experience at Oak Grove High School. From there, I accepted my first teaching position at Lone Jack High School; a Class 2 school about 15 minutes east of Lee's Summit. I taught American History for 3 years while also coaching Varsity Girls Basketball.
I am looking forward to being a part of Pirate Nation, and I can't wait for a great year here at Platte Co.
Chelsea Rohr, BioMedical Science
Josh Wilson, Science
Hi! My name is Josh Wilson and I have been a high school science teacher since 2006.
I live in Saint Joseph with my wife, Aimee, who is teaching ELA at PCHS this year as well. We have a son, Collin, who will be going into 6th grade this coming year. In my free time I like to go camping and canoeing, playing sand volleyball, playing trivia, traveling, going to concerts, and enjoying time with our three dogs. My favorite sports teams are Sporting KC, Chiefs, Royals, and since I am a native of Kentucky, I LOVE the Kentucky Wildcats.
Melissa Boyles, Science
My name is Melissa Boyles. I have been married for 9 years, we have two dogs ( Ellie and Chloe) and we are expecting our first child in September ( It's a BOY!). I grew up in the Northland and attended North Kansas City School District. My husband and I bought a house 2 years ago in the Northland. We love the area and are excited to raise our family here. Outside of school I enjoy reading, working in my yard, going to the pool, traveling and going to baseball games. My favorite baseball team is the Kansas City Royals.
This year I will start my 5th year teaching. I am really excited to start this new chapter in my teaching career. I have taught 7th grade general science in Belton School District for the last 3 years and I taught 8th grade science in the Hickman Mills School district. I am currently working on my Master's in School Leadership at Baker University.
Erica Glidwell, Theatre
Hello, my name is Erica Glidewell and I am so excited to be teaching Theatre at Platte County High School this year! I have been teaching, directing, choreographing, designing, and working in theatre education for many years. It's easy to say that I LOVE theatre education! I received my undergraduate degree in Theatre Performance from K-State and attended Avila University for my Graduate Certification in Education. My goal as an educator in the arts is to see my students grow both academically and as individual artists while I support them along that journey. I am so excited to be able to do that with PCHS students this year!
I currently live just outside of Liberty with my husband and our very lovable (and toothless) cats, Samson and Oliver. Outside of theatre, my husband, and our cats I really love decorating and baking as well. I always try to have cookies or cupcakes on hand! My husband and I also enjoy spending time with family, hanging out with our sweet nephews, going on road trips, attending concerts/shows, traveling as much as we can, and always exploring new things in KC!
I am very much looking forward to working with everyone at Platte County High School this year!
