People have spent time in the Yellowstone region for more than 11,000 years. Yellowstone park was established as the world's first national park in 1872.

summer- 70 and sometimes 80 degrees, below freezing at night

winter- between 0 and 20 degrees during the day, below 0 degrees at night, average snowfall is 150 per year

spring- between 30 and 60 degrees during the day, snow and rain is common
