Domain 4 - Professional Responsibilities
Many of the professional learning opportunities described in the newsletter can be used as artifacts for Domain 4. Consider some of the possibilities below. Scroll through for both credit and non-credit bearing learning opportunities, workshops, classes, and other professional learning announcements.

All sessions will be held in the Board Room at Central Office.

McDaniel College - Gifted and Talented Education Specialist (GATES)
Announcing McDaniel College’s new graduate course sequence, Gifted and Talented Education Specialist (GATES). This sequence, offered totally online, leads to a Maryland state endorsement in gifted and talented education.
There are flexible options for educators to gain expertise in serving the needs of diverse gifted and talented students, recognized as a special population in the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework.
Educators may
· Take one or more GATES online courses by enrolling as a McDaniel non-degree student.
· Complete the entire GATES sequence and apply for the state endorsement.
· Apply to Earn a Master’s in Curriculum in Instruction with a GATES certificate.

Common Ground on the Hill
Walden University
The Richard W. Riley College of Education and Leadership at Walden University is offering the following graduate level courses at a reduced rate. Through their partnership with Carroll County Public Schools these online, 3 credit graduate courses are $385/course. In these self-directed courses you progress at your own pace, with assignments due at 3 different intervals in the course.

Help Maryland Students Embrace History!
Serve as a judge for Maryland History Day 2017 on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County when nearly 700 students will compete with their projects. Training is provided. Register now to volunteer or judge for Maryland History Day 2017!
