A Support Group for Mental Health Professionals

Come discuss the personal, professional, and systemic influences on being caregivers in mental health settings.

This FREE group is designed for women who volunteer or work in a mental health setting and/or provide mental health services, regardless of educational level and background, licensure and employment status. You are invited to attend the entire series of 12 meetings, or pick and choose those topics that interest you. Topics include:


  • Gender roles in the therapy hour

  • Ever changing standards of mental health care

  • Cultural meanings of mental illness, distress & disease

  • Current & local mental health services

  • Lies & myths about various mental health professions

  • Societal prejudices against asking for help (as a mental health professional)

  • Learning to be critical of hierarchies, laws & and messages

  • Loving our vocations & earning a living wage

  • Assessment of your “room”


We will discuss the personal, professional, and systemic influences on being caregivers in mental health settings. The goal is to promote deeper dialogue, expansive examination and creative collaboration among our mental health disciplines, theoretical orientations and specialties.

When: 1st & 3rd Friday of each month at 6:30 - 7:30 PM
