Great Lakes States

Consisting of the Great Lakes Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie, and Ontario. They contain the worlds 21% of fresh surface water. The Great Lakes States have a humid continental climate. The lakes themselves also have a moderating impact on the climate, they can also increase precipitation totals and produce lake-effect snowfall. Human characteristics of these states include a wide population in Illinois, Chicago of 9,804,845. It also includes many ports for exchange of goods.
Human Impact and Movement
The human impact consists of trade on waterways that allow many trades for other countries. The big exports from the US is oil. This region is known as the global leader in advance manufacturing. The lakes also effect us because it is so big that storms and reefs are a major threat and sometimes cause shipwrecks making trading difficult.
America is of the most wealthiest countries in the world and most of the thanks goes to the great lakes and the St. Lawrence river. We are a very urban place and that idea has been expanded to many different places. Our waterways have helped us receive ideas and goods as well.
