General Information
It was great to get back into the swing of our normal routine after last week’s testing.
Spring is a busy time at SRE and we have several things to look forward to in these busy months. We will keep you posted as they come up, but do have some field trips to look forward to.

Literacy In Action
Readers and Writers Have Been Hard at Work!
We are answering the Big question... “What does it take to explore space?”
Word work will focus on words with oo, such as book and good.
There will be a lot of scientific text as we explore our big question!
Final Copies of Literary essays have been submitted. Way to go writers!
Math
We are finishing up Unit 9 today!
Unit 10 “Reflections & Symmetry” Starts Monday
Be sure to please be studying basic facts and completing assigned Study Links nightly.
5th Grade Math is testing over Unit 9 next week.
- Remember too students also have log-ins taped in the front of their assignment notebooks for www.everydaymath.com where there are many valuable resources for support.
Indiana History
Students did a great job of diving into their next textbook and with the material in Unit 1. We are now full steam ahead in Unit 2 learning about Early Cultures in Indiana! Your kiddo can bring their text home any night to share with you what we've been learning!
Students also have accounts for Pearson Realize online as well as text/workbooks. They have their log in information taped inside their assignment notebooks for the online tools including an online text. The easiest way to get there is from Smoky Row website and type Pearson in the search! I think for ipads an app can also be installed for easier use.
