WMS Weekly Warrior
Week of 1-27-20
Good Afternoon WMS Community,
Did anyone see the month of January; how did it pass so quickly? In just a few days, we will be asking that ever-important question, will the groundhog see his shadow? Even more exciting, while driving to school today, I think I saw the sun coming up! This only means the days are getting longer and we are moving into the second half of our school year. It is a busy time preparing for the second half of this year and transitioning for the upcoming school year.
Recently eighth grade parents received a notice from our School Counseling department with some important transition dates. A few to keep in mind are the eighth grade Electives Fair at Nonnewaug High School on February 3rd and the 8th grade Open House on February 12th. If you have any questions regarding these transition activities, please call our counseling department.
Super bowl spirit week is here! Alliance, our student leadership group, is sponsoring a week of school spirit. Here is a list of activities:
Monday (1/27) – PJ (pajama) Day
Tuesday (1/28) – Decade Day (dress from your favorite decade)
Wednesday (1/29) – Western Day
Thursday (1/30) – Camo Day
Friday (1/31) – Football Jersey Day.
Alliance is also looking for donations for our Super Bowl breakfast scheduled on Sunday, February 2nd from 8-10. Donated items may be brought to the school anytime this week. The Super Bowl breakfast supports our school wide March Madness activities. Thank you in advance for your support.

Leo Club Backpack Collection
The Woodbury Middle School Leo Club is collecting lightly used backpacks or drawstring bags as part of a drive to prepare care packages for the less fortunate this winter season. Club members will collect and fill the backpacks/bags with various care and hygiene products, and will deliver them to area shelters for distribution. Care packages will be assembled for men, women, and children, so any style of backpack can be donated.
Any donated bags can be dropped off in the Culinary Arts Room, # 115.
On behalf of the WMS Leo Club, we would like to thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Caroline South and Mike Hadoulis
