Halo Highlight: Welcome Back to St. Louis Catholic! (Student Life & Communication Reminders)
Dear Saints Families,
What a wonderful first week of school it's been! Two masses and a pep rally surely set the tone for an exciting year! Our Saints family is built on strong traditions and a safe and secure environment. Please help us keep our campus safe by observing the following drop-off and pickup procedures:
Arrival/Dismissal - For everyone's safety, the front horseshoe driveway is the only place students should be dropped off and picked up. **If your child drives to school, they should enter the school upon arrival and refrain from staying in their vehicle until the bell rings. Failure to do so could result in a discipline referral.**
Schedule Change Requests Close Friday - As the counselors have reminded you all week, TOMORROW is the last day to request schedule changes for the 2019-2020 school year. For more information and to access the schedule change form, please click here.
School-wide Communication - St. Louis Catholic uses RenWeb to communicate with the school community through email and text messages. In the event of an immediate school closure or other emergency, you will receive a text alert. Depending on the situation, you may also receive an automated phone call with more details from Mr. Bradley, and you will always get a follow-up email with more information in the aftermath. Halo Notes is distributed to all current families each Thursday during the school year, and our website (www.slchs.org) and social media platforms are excellent ways to stay informed about all things Saints.
Uniform Policy - Please refer to the student handbook for St. Louis Catholic's uniform policy. A handy guide is also available on the Parents Info page of our website. Please help us enforce our guidelines by ensuring skirt lengths are appropriate and your child has correct socks and shoes.
Front Office Items - With nearly 600 students, our front office remains busy. While our top priority is to serve our students, it is nearly impossible to distribute items that are brought to the office, such as lunches, changes of clothes, etc. We understand emergencies or the occasional forgetfulness, but please help us establish independence and responsibility by having your child pack these each morning.

We are very excited to spotlight the new faculty members who joined the staff at St. Louis Catholic staff this school year! Next up in the series is Theology & English teacher Joshua Thompson:
Hometown? Topsy, Louisiana, right north of Moss Bluff.
Teaching Background? I have been teaching for four years now. I started teaching History and English at Holy Family Catholic School in Moss Bluff for two years. Last year I taught 6th grade Math at F.K. White Middle. This is my first year teaching high school.
Favorite Quote? "The Glory of God is man fully alive," attributed to St. Iranaeus.
Favorite Foods? Stuffed crust pizza.
What will we most likely find you doing on a weekend? You will most likely find me enjoying the company of my family: my two-year old son, Aidan, and my wife Frances. We often go walking, boating, splash-padding, or hanging out in the back yard.
Where do you most hope to make an impact at St. Louis Catholic? I am looking forward to contributing to the tradition of excellence here at St. Louis Catholic. I am most looking forward to doing this through the Religion department and bringing the Joy of our Faith to our students.
