Wear Blue on May 14th! Support Apraxia Awareness Day!
Apraxia is a motor speech disorder that makes it difficult for children to speak. As in many schools, Meadowview has students who work hard to overcome the challenges of Apraxia. Monday, May 14th is Apraxia Awareness Day and all of Meadowview is encouraged to wear blue! We want to show our students who work to overcome Apraxia we support them!
Class Placement for 2018-2019
At this time of year many parents request teachers for their child. We are not able to honor those requests. Please understand that we have many factors to consider when placing students in classes. The teachers and I do our best to place students in classrooms with teachers and peers for an optimal learning environment. We consider behaviors, learning needs, and social emotional needs. Thanks for understanding!

Friendship Week
Friendship Week was a huge hit at Meadowview! Students had a lot of fun doing different activities with their buddies and classes all week! They learned a lot of great things about being a friend! And about having friends! Some of our favorite parts were buddy lunch and buddy recess! Check out our friendship tree as well as our buddy pictures!
Registration
Registration for 2018-2019 us now open. Please, PLEASE, PLEASE go online and register your child for next year. The sooner you do that, the sooner we know if we need more teachers. This is really important for students currently in Kindergarten, 4th grade, and 5th grade. These grades are very close to the "magic" number; the number that splits classes into three sections. At first grade that number is 57. At fifth and sixth grade that number is 61. When we have that many students registered, completely registered, we can split and hire a new teacher. So, please register. Remember, we have a chrome in the office you can use!
Did You Know
- Did you know we are having our parking lot and drive redesigned and resurfaced this summer? With pavers! That will impact our dismissal procedures next year. Please be watching your email for information this summer!
- Did you know we are getting Buddy Benches at both playgrounds? YEP! Brownie Troop 55170 donated one for the west side! Next year the members of the troop will come around to the classrooms and explain what a buddy bench is and how to use it!
- Did you know the Hobson Hill development is 20% sold? That entire development is in Meadowview's attendance area!
