Third Grade Newsletter
Fourth Marking Period
TRANSLATION / TRADUCCIÓN
Updates
We have many special events happening during the fourth marking period, including Fun and Fitness Day, Math Night, Color Run, and PBIS incentives.
After spring break, we will introduce and send home information about Desk Pets. We are pleased to welcome Desk Pets into our classrooms.
Look for more information to come in your child's take home folder and in our schoolwide newsletter. We look forward to seeing our students continue to show their tiger pride during this exciting time of the year.
Curriculum Overview
Reminders
During the first two marking periods all students were provided with support on reading assessments. The expectation for third graders at this point in the year is for them to be completing reading assessments independently. This change began during the third marking period. We will continue to assist students as needed on an individual basis. Please continue to read each night with your child and practice our spelling list.
Students are still working hard to master multiplication facts. We ask that you continue to encourage practice at home as part of their math homework. Students are invited to bring an artifact to show their work or practice orally. If you are quizzing your child or using flashcards at home, please sign their planner to indicate they've practiced.
Feel free to reach out by email or phone with any questions or comments.

Planners and Homework
The tiger paw stamps in the planner show that your child is working to keep their planner updated each day. We appreciate your support with planner use. We're thankful to have the opportunity to help our students learn the importance of staying organized and informed.
Homework (Monday - Thursday)
Reading - Read a book of your choice for at least 20 minutes.
Spelling - Complete a choice from the "Spelling Choice Board" in your spelling journal.
Math - On some nights a math paper will be sent home. You should see the date assigned and the date due written on the paper. Students should also practice multiplication facts.
Students may complete Dreambox lessons at home for extra practice.
Go to www.clever.com, use the badge to log in, scroll down, click the blue and green d to get on Dreambox (see Dreambox icon below).
All students have a clever badge taped in the front of their planners.
