Stop The Online Bullying,
By : Chyna Wright
What is cyber bullying ?
Cyber bullying is similar too other types of bullying , except it takes place online and through text messages sent to cellphones. Cyber bullies can be classmates , online acquaintances, and even anonymous users, but most often they do know their victims.
Facts On Cyber Bullying ....
- 68% of teens agree that cyber bullying is a serious problem.
- 81% of young people think bullying online is easier to get away with than bullying in person.
- Only 1 in 10 victims will inform a parent or trusted adult of their abuse.
- About 75% of students admit they have visited a website bashing another student.
Did You Know Cyber Bullying Can Lead To Suicide ?
Bully victims are between 2 to 9 times more likely to consider suicide than non-victims, according to studies by Yale University. Bully-related suicide can be connected to any type of bullying, including physical bullying, emotional bullying, cyberbullying, and sexting, or circulating suggestive or nude photos or messages about a person.
Sticks & Stones May Break Your Bones , But Word Will Never Hurt ?...
This old saying is completely wrong. Words can and may hurt especially coming from the other side of the screen.
Imagine Being Called All These Hurtful Words..
In this picture , this young female is being embarrassed and harassed by online bullies. All these hurtful words are lowering her self esteem and can shortly lead to depression.
There's NO requirments to be met to be a bully.
Cyber-bullying ranges from females to males. And all ages. In this generation and this point of time everyone at every age owns a phone and that's just one requirement of being bullied or being a bully.

Should Cyber bullying be a criminal offense ?
Yes , cyber-bullying should be a criminal offense. I say this because how many suicide cases are we going to get before we start realizing this type of behavior that goes on online has to be stopped rather than if it resorts in a fine or jail time. Many people have to face this offense everyday and its ruining our society and killing our generation.
The Movement Continues ..
Besides engaging in the negative social media ways , get involved in many of our networks and keep in contact .
