Register Today for Grades 4-12
This training provides participants with an overview of:
- The state law as it pertains to Sex Education/HIV Prevention in the school setting
- Best practices in HIV/STI/Teen Pregnancy Prevention
- What makes a curriculum effective for HIV/STI/Teen Pregnancy Prevention
- The role of the Sex Education Advisory Board (SEAB) and district Sex Education Supervisor
- Effective ways to answer students’ sensitive questions
Practice throughout the day will help to build teacher comfort in facilitating this content with students in a way to support delaying initiation and healthy behaviors long-term.
Need an HIV Certificate update only? Register for the half-day training and join us at noon.
8:30am - 3:30pm; Check in begins at 8:00am.
Sub reimbursement available for Oakland County Classroom teachers ($75 max/day).

Please note: Middle School and High School Teachers must meet the state mandate as Fully Qualified Teachers of Health Education in order to teach this content in the classroom, which includes MA (health), MX (health, physical education, recreation, and dance), or KH (family and consumer science) endorsements.
