Congratulations to you, Home Educator!
Your child’s big day is here! A day that both you and your student have been working, planning, and dreaming about since they first recited their ABC’s. A day filled with trepidation and excitement in knowing that this is just the next big step in fulfilling their dreams to become a doctor, veterinarian, or artist. You have pictured them walking in a commencement ceremony, tassel to the side, and a diploma in hand while you and your family cheer at the top of your lungs. Although these commencement ceremony dreams may not have come to fruition due to the pandemic, you still know that this day is a huge accomplishment for both you and your teen. It's Graduation Day…and just like that, your child is now a high school graduate.
Now that your child is graduating, you are a ball of emotions…nervous about what their future holds, excited to see what they do next, and relieved that not only has your child accomplished so much but that you were one of the many people that helped get them there. All of this because of one life-changing decision. HOMESCHOOLING. You may have been scared and overwhelmed with this decision at first…but boy oh boy are you both thankful for it now. Even after all of those hard math lessons that left you scratching your head and pulling your hair out, the reports that you had to mark up with a red pen for your child to rewrite, and those days that just might have been full of tears... you are beyond grateful for the time, love and life lessons that you have been able to share together. Not only are you beyond proud of your graduate, but you are also proud of yourself. Because of you, your child’s education has been enriched, unique, and successful. For you…this day seemed so far off, but now that it’s here, you are thankful that you made that nerve-wracking decision to educate at home. Now that it's all over, you have a chance to reflect on the many opportunities and encouragement your graduate has received… you couldn’t imagine education any other way.
Congratulations to our 2020 graduates and the amazing home educators that helped them not only succeed but thrive! We are so very proud of you!

- Utilize resources without being defeated by the threat of failure
- Learn by a mastery approach, embrace challenges and put in the effort to learn
- View perceived task setbacks as a necessary part of the learning process

Hi everyone! I am a mom of 3 awesome kids ranging in age from 11 to 7 years old. My husband and I are high school sweethearts and have been married for 17 years. Having homeschooled our children over the last 8 years in 3 different states, I've found homeschooling here in California, especially with Mission Vista Academy, has been a great fit for our homeschool journey. I am grateful for our ability to homeschool so freely and I aspire to assist other families with their own homeschool adventures!

Hi there! I am a mom of two girls, 10 and 11 years old, and have been homeschooling from the start. I am also the wife of a very supportive hubby of almost 14 years. We are raising our children in the Coachella Valley and excited to see how the homeschooling community has grown in our area, as well as the resources. I am very grateful that I have this opportunity to homeschool my children. I love to help and encourage families and assist in building our homeschooling resources in the Desert Area.

Fully Accredited for Grades TK-9 by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
(As each year we add another grade level in high school, we anticipate full accreditation of grades TK-12 by 2023. Go MVA!)
