Attendance Requirements!
1. Starting in the second quarter, you have a mandatory Attendance responsibility on Wednesdays. You need to submit this Wednesday Attendance Form by 11:30 AM on Wednesdays. You only need to do this once (for your 2nd period class) and it counts for your full day attendance on Wednesdays. You should be able to find this form in your teachers' Google Classrooms, too.
2. For your asynchronous day, you also have a responsibility to participate, and this determines your attendance. You will need to check in with each one of your teachers to find out what their expectations are for your attendance in their class on your asynchronous day.
If you have any questions or concerns about attendance, you can call 650-550-7781. Also, remember that if you need to excuse any absences, parents/guardians need to call our attendance office at 650-550-7781.
Keep up the good work and stay safe and healthy!

Happy Friday Jefferson staff!
I just wanted to inform you all that JCYC will be having a CSU panel on Monday December 9th, 2020 4:00pm-5:00pm. We previously had this set for Wednesday of this week but have changed the date. We would appreciate if you'd share this event to your students . Especially to those who are interested in Cal State San Luis Obispo, this is a great opportunity to get more information and personal insight about how the university is like. This is also great for any student who is considering majoring in journalism or law and society. Those of you who attend will be eligible to participate in the Raffle for a $20 DoorDash e-gift card. Below is the link to register for the event as well as more information in the flyers. I have attached a Guided Questions PDF of possible questions for the students.
Our events will be with:
· Jennie Le: December 9th, 4pm-5pm, Journalism Major & Law and Society Minor attending at CSU San Luis Obispo
I have attached a Guided Questions PDF of possible questions
There is a google form that they can fill out to register! There's also a QR code to scan, and it will direct them to the form as well!
If there any questions or concerns, feel free to email me at this email or SJ Marte at smarte@juhsd.net or smarte@jcyc.org
Secondly,
I also wanted to mention that Personal Statements Workshop is still on. I know many of your students are working hard on their college applications and part of that can possibly mean working on PIQ's. That is why I wanted to give them extra support by providing this workshop. We will be focusing on editing, reviewing, and hopefully finalizing your personal insight essay. Students can always register with the link below or email me back at this email address to make an appointment.

Jefferson High School Class of 2021!
Did you know as a student of the Jefferson Union High School District you have access to a one-stop portal to all your college applications (Community College, CSUs, and UCs)? That’s right, your CaliforniaColleges.edu account makes filling out all those applications much more convenient and easier than doing it alone.
This week, we’d like you to check out the JUHSD College and Career website and click on the 12th grade drop down about how CaliforniaColleges.edu can support YOU during college application season with the managing deadlines, keeping track of information, and launching applications.
CaliforniaColleges.edu has lots of tools that you can take advantage of, and some are highlighted in the videos on each slide. Please watch each video as it pertains to your plans for after-high school and learn about how CaliforniaColleges can help you!
Students using District issued Chromebooks will find a link to californiacolleges.edu in the JUHSD Bookmarks tab of the Chrome browser.
Reach out to your counselor if you have any questions, of course.
