Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can you review the COVID 19 symptoms?
A. It is of utmost importance that UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES can anyone come into an FPS building while experiencing ANY of the following symptoms:
- Fever, chills or shaking chills
- Temperature of 100.0 F (37.7 C) or higher
- Loss of taste or smell
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Headache
- Sore throat
- Fatigue/unusual tiredness with 1 other symptom
- Body aches
- Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
- Congestion or runny nose
Note that other than fatigue/unusual tiredness, each of the other symptoms; that means that you don't need to have a combination of symptoms in order for the app to yield a red result. For instance, (this is a true story) on Sunday I went to be tested due to a sore throat. I will not enter the buildings until I receive a negative test and HR clears me to return.
Q. I have COVID-symptoms and the screen turned red. What do I do?
A. Email your supervisor and let them know, stay home, do not come to work, get a PCR test, and please forward your result to covidresults@framingham.k12.ma.us.
I don't understand why my screen turned red. I don't have symptoms and have not traveled.
Q. I am waiting for the test results. Could that be a factor?
A. Your red screen was probably due to waiting for test results other than surveillance testing. Please forward your negative result to covidresults@framingham.k12.ma.us.
Q. I submitted my answers this morning and I got a red screen. Not sure why. I have no symptoms. I thought I answered no to all, but might have inadvertently done otherwise.
A. Contact your supervisor and inform them of your error; then, contact COVIDresults@framingham.k12.ma.us so they can clear you.
Q. I indicated that I have congestion/runny nose. Why did my screen turn red?
A. This is a COVID symptom and does cause a red screen and directions to stay home, be tested, and cleared by HR prior to returning to school.
Q. I am having technology questions. What should I do?
A. Should you have any technology questions, please reach out to the Office of Technology helpdesk.
Q. I have a chronic condition that leads to COVID-like symptoms (i.e. congestion due to allergies, headache due to migraines, diarrhea due to irritable bowel syndrome, etc.). What do I do?
A. Don't worry. You don't have to spend the rest of the school year taking sick time. If you have a chronic condition, at the first sign of a symptom, get a PCR COVID test (sorry, but you cannot use FPS test sites because you should not be coming in at this initial point), get a baseline for what the symptom feels like when you know it’s not COVID. From then on, you are encouraged to engage in weekly PCR COVID testing, and can check “No” on that symptom unless there is a change or increase in the symptom(s). If there is a change or new symptoms accompany your chronic symptoms, you must check “Yes,” stay home, get tested, and be cleared prior to returning to school.
Q. I am a student-teacher. Do I fill out MedBot?
A. No. You will have to answer questions on Raptor, the visitor system.
Q. What will individuals who don't have an Aspen record do (i.e. non-FPS education service providers, student teachers, etc.)?
A. These individuals will sign into Raptor, the visitor system that asks the same questions as MyMedBot.
Q. I marked that I have a symptom by accident. What do I do?
A. Notify your supervisor right away. Email COVIDresults@framingham.k12.ma.us with the title "MedBot", and the COVID Team will fix the attestation. Principals and supervisors do not have access to the staff MyMedBot dashboard; they have access to the fact that an employee failed but not the reason.
Q. When do I have to complete MyMedBot?
A. You will be required to complete the form on the app every morning before school begins. The form will be available at 4:00 am; you must submit the form at the same time as when you would have to notify your supervisor if you had to call out sick. Please set a reminder to complete the form. Please ensure that you complete medbot by 10 AM everyday if you are a second shift staff member. After 10 AM the mebot app is not closely monitored.
Q. I am on a full year LOA. Do I have to fill out MyMedBot?
A. No. We will be pulling individuals on LOAs out of the list of individuals to receive this notification.
Q. I forgot to complete my attestation. What do I do?
A. You will continue to get notifications, so complete it as soon as you can.
Q. Does HIPPA apply to MyMedBot?
A. Although most people think “health information” is automatically regulated (and protected) by the privacy and security provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”), employers are generally not subject to the HIPAA privacy regulations. Even in the limited instance where such information might be subject to HIPAA, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has stated that HIPAA allows disclosure, “without a patient’s authorization, [of] protected health information about the patient as necessary to treat the patient or to treat a different patient.” (45 CFR §§164.502(a)(1)(ii), 164.506(c)). HIPAA, if applicable, also allows disclosure in emergencies such as the COVID-19 emergency to public health officials. (45 CFR §§164.501 and 164.512(b)(1)(i)).
Q. Where can I find out more about MyMedBot Security?
A. Please visit https://mymedbot.com/covid-faq/.
Q. Who must complete MyMedBot?
A. Anyone who has an Aspen record and a school email address has to complete MyMedBot daily at present.
Q. I already have the app set up for my children's school, how do I add my account for FPS?
A. According to MyMedBot, you can only have one email address per phone app. Unfortunately, we can't change the email address in Framingham from your school account. Perhaps your child's school could use your Framingham account. You can try going into your student's account and changing the email address. If this does not work, you can use the web interface for the Framingham notification process. Log into https://dashboard.mymedbot.lu/webapp and enter your FPS email address and code.
Q. I answered that I have a test pending for COVID, and I was told to stay home. Why?
A. If the test was due to symptoms, exposure or travel, please stay home and forward your test results to COVIDresults@framingham.k12.ma.us when you get the results. If your testing was the in-school weekly PCR testing available for all staff, please let your supervisor know and COVIDresults know, and the COVID team will adjust your responses so you can come into work.
Q. I had tested positive for COVID in the past. I also have a chronic condition that presents like COVID symptoms. What do I do?
A. Please answer no for your chronic symptom until 90 days after your positive test. If you feel sick/have larger symptoms, DPH recommends testing for COVID for people who are sick after 6 weeks post having COVID.
