Sprucing up in Spring!

For some, the words "fresh and clean" go perfectly with Spring...making this season the perfect time to spruce up the house both inside and out! Current market conditions and real estate trends show home values for High Point Estates continue to rise, right along with several other neighborhoods in Metro Atlanta's intown housing market. Because of this, all High Point homeowners are encouraged to take special care of their homes, especially when it comes to landscaping and exterior maintenance. The High Point Homeowners' Association (HOA) is working diligently to maintain the common areas so that they look nice for both homeowners and potential buyers. So now might be a good time to start thinking about the following exterior home maintenance projects:

• Replacing or repairing mailboxes and/or posts

• Trimming shrubs and bushes

• Pressure washing or painting your home

• Replacing rotted wood to include homes, decks, fencing, etc. and painting/staining if needed

• Storing all trash containers out of public view

• Mowing lawns regularly and addressing weeds and possible bare spots. Also, please do not blow leaves and grass clippings into the street or storm drains.

Home Modification Requests & Violation Notices

In order to preserve a harmonious neighborhood design, please remember that all exterior home modifications require HOA Board approval. Please review our Architectural Guidelines and remember to submit a Modification Request Form prior to beginning any exterior home modifications.

Additionally, periodically our property management company (Homeside Properties) may issue a violation notice during routine community visits. While we recognize that receiving a violation notice may be frustrating for some, please remember that this is done in the spirit of protecting our home values.

Upon receipt of a violation, homeowners have 30 days to satisfactorily resolve or respond to a violation notice before fines are assessed. If additional time is needed to resolve a violation, please provide an estimated resolution date in your response.

For more information please review High Point Estates' Governing Documents.

Friendly Pet Reminder

High Point Estates is a pet-friendly community, and for our pet owners who consistently clean up after your pet(s), "thank you and we appreciate your consideration!" However, for pet owners who neglect to pick up after their pet(s), or keep them on a leash, please be mindful this has an impact on everyone. To help maintain the landscaping and cleanliness of our common areas and sidewalks, pet-waste stations are stocked with bags throughout our community.

In effort to keep our community clean and safe, please remember:

  • If you don’t already utilize the pet waste stations or your own supplies when walking your pet(s), on a leash, throughout the community, please start.
  • If you see a pet owner who does not pick up after their dog, please alert the Board.
  • If the pet waste stations need to be filled, please do not hesitate to reach out and alert the Board.
  • All pets must be on a leash when in public spaces that are not designated dog parks (City of Atlanta Ordinance).
  • Refer to our Declaration of Protective Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions for High Point Estates Homeowners’ Association—5.15. Animals and Pets for more info.

Neighborhood House Signs Now Available

Homeowners can now purchase one of the newly designed High Point Estates house signs, which reflect the numerous Oak trees throughout the neighborhood. The signs can be ordered online by visiting this website. They are available in wood or painted green; however, with HOA support homeowners are welcome to paint the sign another color, or add custom house numbers. The sign also includes chains attached to the top corners that can be hung from any hooks attached to a house. The vender, Tales of EAV, can answer any questions regarding sign orders and will process them once a minimum of 15 orders are received. We appreciate homeowner support on this fun unity project for 2022, and we look forward to seeing your signs!
