What's New This Week?
Welcome to Quarter 2!
I am so excited to get back to working with students this quarter. We have a lot going on and coming up, so please be sure to read the whole newsletter for all of the important dates you will need to know!
All of Quarter 2 assignments have been posted in Canvas, along with their due dates. Please work closely with your students to ensure they are completing their work in Canvas.
Middle School students have been working on writing haunted scripts this past week. Their groups will perform their work on Thursday and Friday this week! They are so excited!!
High School has begun working on our Senior Showcase show, Clue. Roles have been cast and rehearsals are underway!
The Candy Challenge is back for Q2! Students are asked to bring in candy to fill Mrs. Steele's candy box for Q2. For every 200 pieces of candy brought in, students will earn a journal pass to use during Q2 (up to 3 can be earned).
If you are looking for something fun to do this weekend, our High School Theatre students will be performing their Fall Show, "Wit". Please note, "Wit" does contain some language and themes that may not be suitable for all ages. Tickets will be $5 at the door. Concessions and Flowers will also be sold at the door. Additionally, for the first time, we will have a fundraiser set up in the lobby that will support our theatre program! Each cast member has decorated a shoe box that represents their character. Patrons are asked to vote for their favorite by making a donation in the box of their choice. At the end of each show, we will have the People's Choice Award given to the box with the most donations. We appreciate your support of the Arts at UA!
I hope you all have an amazing week! Please let me know if there is anything I can do to support you or your student!
Sing-cerely,
Ashley Steele
