Parent Update

Hello KRMS families,

I hope the warm weather is a sign that spring is near. Our middle school spring sports teams took to try-outs this week and we are excited for a strong finish to the school year. As a reminder, our third quarter ends on Friday, April 8, 2022. Please continue to check your child's grades on JumpRope so there are no surprises come the time report cards are emailed home.

The JumpRope dashboard will be updated a bit differently as we have transition to the second half of the school year. Up to this point, missing assignment notifications have appeared on the dashboard for the entire quarter. For the remainder of the school year, missing assignments will remain on the dashboard for two weeks after their due date and, if not turned in, will then be recorded as a 1 on JumpRope. At that point, these assignments would no longer appear as missing on the dashboard.

It is our hope that fewer students will allow missing assignments to accumulate and will establish stronger work habits as they work through the second half of the school year. We know that absences have presented challenges for many students and will work together with them to find solutions that will help them get caught up.

We have some exciting information from the KRMS music department! Our students will be performing LIVE this coming Wednesday on March 23rd. The band will be performing at 6:30 and the chorus will perform at 7:00 pm in the Kingswood Arts Center. For those students performing, we are asking that they arrive 30-minutes before their performance time. The students will walk from the middle school to the Arts Center to perform. The concert attire for students performing will be the same as the December concert: Music department t-shirt and dark pants (no leggings please).

This night will also include our first KRMS Arts night in almost three years. We will be displaying artwork from middle school students at the Kingswood Arts Center. There will also be a slideshow of students' artwork during the concerts. We hope you are able to see the incredible work they have been doing.

Our return from most Covid restrictions includes our water stations still being turned on; however, our water fountains to drink directly from are still not on. We continue to ask students to bring a water bottle so they can refill it during the day. This would greatly help out if you can assist us in having your child bring a reusable bottle for water.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly here at the school. Thank you all for your continued support and cooperation.

Sincerely,

James A. Reilly
