News From the Peak
From Michelle
It has been a BUSY week. We hope that all of you are ready for the weekend. We are sure the students are. :)
We want to thank MDUSD for the beautiful courtyard! It is so nice to have a paved surface without gravel or tan bark. Most of our current students did not need to experience the infamous "tan bark splinters". We are very grateful for the new "patio".
We also want to send a HUGE THANK YOU to all of the parent volunteers who came up on Monday afternoon and moved everything into the courtyard and set up all the tables and umbrellas for our students to use. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!
We know that the days we are experiencing are difficult to navigate. We know that you want what is safest for your child as do we. As with almost everything there is a spectrum as to what individuals and families feel safe with for their children. We understand that we cannot meet each families expectation at either end. We are doing our best to use the guidance from agencies we are associate with in order to provide the greatest level of precaution for all events, be it weather or Covid. We truly do not know what is the best choice with doors and windows if the AQi is 170. Also, while purpleair is often higher, it is not as regulated as airnow.gov (from what we can tell). We will use both. For working and eating inside, we will use purpleair, and for closing the school we will use airnow.gov. However, you are always welcome to pick up your child if you are concern with their exposure to smoke while on campus. As mentioned last week, we have purchased room air purifiers for each classroom in addition to the filters for all of our AC units provided through MDUSD.
Before we started back to school families needed to sign an "On Campus Agreement". One of the agreements on this form was that parents would be available to pick up their child within 30 minutes if they are called for the school or provide the number of an authorized person to pick them up within that 30 minutes. Please make sure that you are accessible during the day or that we have the correct contact of who we should call first if your child is feeling ill at school. Any children exhibiting symptoms must be picked up from school. We were advised from county health that even students who have had Covid and have the antigens in their body must be treated as the other students when it comes to all of the preventative guidelines. We thank you in advance for your support and help with this matter.
Thank you for being our partner during all of these changes and challenges.
Have a nice weekend,
Michelle

Covid Testing- Please note that we must receive the results of a Covid- 19 PCR test. We cannot accept the results of a rapid test. Thank you for your help with this.
Carpool Process-
Please review the carpool procedures in the Handbook for Parents and Students.
Remember if you are picking up in the drive-through line, you need to drive all the way up Hutchinson Rd, flip a u-turn and form a line along the sidewalk next to the fields. If you are having someone else pick up your child, please explain the procedures to them.
Please do not drop your child off alone prior to 8am. If they need to go to childcare, please walk them in and sign them into childcare. If they are not going to childcare, they cannot be left alone in front of the school until after 8am.
Please always, always use the crosswalk.
Please remember to send a water bottle with your child's name on it to school with them.
Please remember to read through the handbook provided on transparent classroom.
We are attaching both the September Childcare and the September Breakfast form. Please fill out completely and return to the office.

Please see the email sent from CFEP separately as well!
Welcome BACK!
All the ways you can give:
Our Annual Giving Campaign (https://www.cfep.us/product/annual-giving-2020/)
The Annual Giving Campaign is Eagle Peak’s single largest fundraiser each year. This voluntary donation goes directly to paying for school specialists and special programs that complement and enhance EPMS’s existing curriculum. Annual Giving enables CFEP to assist EPMS in covering shortfalls in funding due to state and federal cuts and delays. This year we are asking for a donation of $2000 per student, but any amount you are able to contribute is greatly appreciated.
Supply Donation (https://www.cfep.us/product/school-supplies/)
One feature of a Montessori classroom is specialized materials which facilitate learning, in addition to standard materials like paper and pencils. This also includes Covid-related supplies like the individual briefcases. Thankfully, all school supplies are purchased directly by Eagle Peak, so nobody has to make any last minute rushes to the store searching for that last box of pencils or right brand of markers! To help cover those supplies, we are asking for a donation of $150 dollars.
Annual Auction
We aren't sure what the auction will look like this year, whether it's in-person or online, but there are so many ways to participate. You can offer up donations, go out in the community to collect them, and also bid on them! Stay tuned this year for auction information!
Corporate Matching
Please check with the company you work for to see if they match your donations! You might be surprised that you can double your efforts for the school.
Amazon Smile
Since the pandemic, Amazon has grown leaps and bounds. They offer a small donation from eligible purchases on their app, and on their website. You have to set it up initially, but once you do, it's as easy as placing an order. The donation is small, but it can really add up to thousands if we all participate! Video on how to set up on the app: Insert link to video. You can also shop without the app through smile.amazon.com
Sports Basement
They have a "Basementeer" program that gives back 10% to the school! To learn more visit: https://shop.sportsbasement.com/pages/schools
Dine and Donate
We work together to partner with local restaurants to have a fun night out for a meal with our fellow Eagle Peak families. If you know of a lead for a restaurant that might be interested in participating, please reach out to contact@cfep.us. Our first Dine and Donate event is with Burger Lounge on Thursday, October 28.)
Box Tops for Education
Remember those clip and save Box Tops? Those days are OVER! They now have an app that you can use to scan your grocery receipts. To learn more visit: https://www.boxtops4education.com/
We know this has been a challenging time for everyone with many changes. Through all this, Eagle Peak has been able to provide not only a Montessori education, but has also facilitated those peer and teacher relationships that are so crucial for our children to thrive. Please help us support our amazing school in whatever way and amount you are able! Thank you so much for your support, and we look forward to seeing you at a CFEP meeting soon!
Sincerely,
The Community Foundation for Eagle Peak
Don't forget about Box Top$ for Education!
Remember to gather your Box Tops for Education.
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS: Buy participating products and use the Box Tops mobile app to scan your store receipt within 14 days of purchase. The app identifies eligible products and automatically adds Box Tops to Eagle Peak's earnings online. Even if you’re shopping online or doing grocery pickup, you can still submit your e-receipts and earn Box Tops. Your earnings may seem small, but they really do add up. The more people that participate, the bigger the impact we can make. Learn more about how Box Tops works at BTFE.com.
