A Letter From Your Principal

Nimitz/STEM Families,

Woohoo! We have kicked off the school year, and our Seahawks are doing well! Seriously, many students have not stepped foot in a school for 16 months, so the laughter and chatter is such a warm welcome. I have noticed something very interesting about this year's group of kids. The majority act their age. They act like kids and that is a beautiful thing to see.

This year has already brought several challenges, however we are trying hard to stay ahead of them. We have added additional seating to the cafeteria so that students can social distance. We have also made a few adjustments to our master schedule to decrease student class sizes. While things continue to change, we will continue to think ahead and keep Nimitz safe.

We have several fun things happening on campus this month! Please check out the Looking Ahead section. I think I'm most excited about our Grandparents' Day breakfast and our first Parent Community Coffee with yours truly. This will be a great time to get to know each other and partner together to benefit students.

I hope everyone has a fantastic September! Don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything!

Best Wishes,

Jennifer Cooper

Principal, Nimitz STEM

Big picture
Our Junior Cadets came through for us with technology in August! They rewired all of the charging carts and took inventory of all of the devices. Way to lead with honor, courage and commitment!
