Distance Learning
I want to first reach out and send you my positive thoughts and wishes to your families. I, along with the entire La Mariposa staff, am deeply saddened by the latest announcements regarding the closure of California schools for the remainder of the year.
Even though our campus is closed, school is still in session and distance learning will continue for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. Thank you for your ongoing flexibility with our shift to distance learning. As we've made this transformative shift, teachers are working hard to deliver quality instruction to your children. I am overwhelmed with pride and gratitude to the teachers that have spent countless hours preparing for this learning shift.
Please know that students are required to do their assignments. Students need to either complete the tasks online and if they don’t have access to technology, they need to do the paper copies. Distance learning is compulsory, but we are being flexible with due dates for a brief time because of the inherent learning curve of online learning. Yesterday, we received guidance from the state regarding grading in distance learning and we are working on a grading system now.
I want to thank the entire La Mariposa community for being understanding, adaptable, and flexible as we navigate through these challenging times together.
Stay Safe,
