From the Principal...

Hello Seton Community,

I hope you are all well and enjoying the snow that Wisconsin brings us each winter. I want to remind you that registration for Wisconsin School Choice opened on February 1. If you are a current Choice family you must reapply every year. You will not be required to submit any income information.

If you have children in 4K or kindergarten, you may also qualify for Wisconsin School Choice. Don't hesitate to apply. We are happy to help you through this process. The income levels are shown below and the application is found at https://dpi.wi.gov/parental-education-options/choice-programs/student-applications

Also, spread the word! Seton Catholic will be providing after school care at no charge beginning in the fall of 2021. If you haven't registered for the 2021-2022 school year yet, forms are found at http://www.sheboyganseton.org/registration/.

Thank you again for all you do for our Seton School Community.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, pray for us.

Sincerely,

Dr. Stephanie Nardi, Principal

2020-2021 Seton Catholic Mid-Year Celebration

20-21 Mid Year Celebration

Seton Catholic Winter Assessment Data

Our students recently completed winter assessments in reading and math. The three charts below illustrate our student scores on national norms. Green indicates "At/Above Benchmark." Blue is "On Watch." Yellow is "Intervention" needed, and red is "Urgent Intervention" needed. These scores include all students---regular education, special education, enrichment, and students who are new to us this month.

We have also looked at our winter data from the lens of the WI Forward Exam standards. The WI Forward exam is taken by all students in grades 3-8 and is a rigorous test with very high standards. Our winter data as it compares to Wisconsin standards, rather than national norms, is below the three pie charts. As you can see, we made gains in both reading and math from fall to winter.

In reading, 50% of our students are in the top 60 percentile of students and 22% are in the norms (40-60%) of what is expected at their grade level. In math, 50% of our students are in the top 60 percentile of students and 28% are in the norms (40-60%) of what is expected at their grade level. Again, this includes regular education students, special education students, and enrichment students.

We continue to see steady progress in our students even with the spring virtual requirement last school year. Please know that students are more successful when they are in school. While quarantines and illness can't be helped, vacations and other unexcused absences do affect learning. We appreciate all you do to help keep us face to face. Thank you for working with us as a school community.

COVID-19 Information

You may have heard in the news that the CDC has released options to reduce the length of COVID-19 quarantines. I have attached the Sheboygan County Recommendations for your review. Seton Catholic will be using those recommendations as listed below. We will maintain a 14 day quarantine as we are in a setting with many people and the potential for spread. Please be diligent with safety precautions as we are hoping to stay face to face for your children.

14 day no symptoms, no test option:

This is a 14-day quarantine from Seton School. The quarantine begins with the start of symptoms or the day of last contact with a positive case. The student can return to school without a doctor note after 14 days and if he/she has no symptoms. These days will be tracked in the office.

7 day no symptoms, negative test option:

Quarantine can end after day 7 of quarantine with a negative test and no symptoms if the test was taken no sooner than day 6 of the quarantine. The quarantine begins with the start of symptoms or day of last contact with a positive case. The student can return to school with a dated confirmation of a negative test and no symptoms. The days will be tracked in the school office.

Please note that household contacts are handled differently as noted on the recommendations below.
