Differentation & Get Connected to Other Educators
Differentiation - 5 minutes, 5 days, 5 months, 5 years
It's safe to say that good differentiation is an ongoing process. The article, "What Works for Differentiating Instruction in Elementary Schools" on Edutopia by Grace Rubenstein (see below), is an excellent guide to things you can do to help improve differentiation.
In five minutes for example, she recommends: reading student files, giving a student questionnaire, using a KWL chart with students - to name a few. These are great ways to get started without feeling overwhelmed.
In five days you can: arrange desks into clusters, plan assignments that give choice, or create a survey for parents.
In five weeks you can: read a book about differentiation, see Rubenstein's reading list [here], and introduce one new tech tool.
Rubenstein gives a lot of practical ways that you can differentiate without bombarding the reader. It's a great read if you have five minutes:)
