Drop Off & Pick Up Procedure
- In our efforts to ensure quality religious education, we request all parents to please drop off your child to REC no earlier than 9:45 AM.
- We humbly request parents to wait in a single file line outside the building. We have to keep the lobby area and emergency exit door accessible in case of an emergency
- If you are picking up your child early, please come to the office and a management member will retrieve your child from the classroom. We kindly request parents NOT to stand in the REC hallways.
- Snacks are given after REC is over, so please open the snacks outside of the building. Be mindful of where to throw away the trash. Please inform the teacher and management of any allergies.

Talim Postcards
Ta'lim Postcards
In a nutshell, the Post Card is a “snapshot” of the nature of discussions in the classroom along with conversation starting ideas. It’s not a quiz, it’s not a test, it’s just a way to engage the family in a conversation. The postcard will provide parents with a quick insight into what was taught in class each week. It also offers a couple of suggestions, to parents, on how they can continue the learning at home. It will have information like, the topic name, book number and the key messages from the lesson. It will have some conversation starters for parents to engage in.
Children learn through experiences. As parents we can seek out opportunities in which our children learn about the values that our Faith teaches us. For example a child can learn about the ethic of forgiveness when reading about the Prophet and the Unkind Woman. However, when a parent can use that story to encourage her child to forgive a friend who said something rude, then the learning becomes “contextualized.” It becomes more real. Because the child will have an opportunity to first-hand experience the complicated emotions that can be involved in forgiveness, and also feel the grandness and satisfaction that can come from being “big” about the situation. So it’s very important for parents to use this resource to bring the values of Talim “Alive” at home.
On the postcard you will see two sections:
- The left section of the postcard will show the theme, topic, and book.
- The right (main) section lists out the key learnings (objectives) introduced in the class that week. It also lists suggested questions/discussion points that you can utilize to spark conversation at home!
Postcards will be sent every REC week via our newsletter (Smore).
