Congratulations, Celebrations, and Gratitudes
Congrats to the 4th & 5th Grade students for their great manners, behavior and learning that was experienced on the field trip to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. We received multiple complements from individuals about our students from East.
Thanks to the team of adults that made the 4th & 5th Grade field trip possible, espcially Cristina Vanzo who spearheaded the entire trip making sure that all arrangements and details were in place. Thanks to those extra staff members that helped as well: Shay, Celeste, Brenda and Tiffany. It would not have been as successful without your assistance.
Thanks to all those that are helping fill in for situations in which a sub has cancelled or cannot be found. Brenda has done this multiple times. Thanks also to Kristin and Tiffany, who end up sacrificing their job priorities and duties to fill in where ever needed.
Thanks to those that are filling in and/or trading morning or afternoon duties for your colleagues when needed for early morning meetings or other morning obligations. Your teamwork is noticed and greatly appreciated.

Summer Academy: June 6 - 10
Elementary Summer Academy will run from 9:00 - 4:00 pm daily with an hour break for lunch. Academy will be meeting at the middle school. On Monday, if you are participating in the June event, you need to arrive at 8:30 on that day only.
Planned and Unplanned Absences
- According to district policy GRGO, and its associated regulation GRGO-R, Unless the nature of the leave is an unforeseen illness or emergency, the principal should be notified 72 hours in advance. Here at East all you need to do is send me a text or email prior to posting your absences on aesop. Please don't let the first time I learn about a planned absence be when I check aesop in the morning before school.
- You are responsible for finding your own sub. For planned abscesses, you should completely take care of filling that absence on your own, and check is before your leave to be sure it continues to stay filled. Unfortunately, subs sometimes cancel and don't tell anyone about it. Please let Jen and/or I know when you are having issues finding a sub, so that we can help you.
- Any absence beyond 3 consecutive days requires a note from the doctor.
- Requests for Current Annual Leave days used before or after a vacation, holiday, or during the first or last week of the school year, will be presented to the Administrative Team by the employee’s principal. Employees should complete the appropriate form provided for such absences, 72 hours in advance, except in the case of an illness or emergency (see Regulation GBGGE). Employees should not make arrangements for leave until or unless leave request is approved.
