How a Two Stroke

Engine Works

How it works

A two stroke engine is very complex. So to explain it in a short way:  Gas is taken from the tank, and air is taken from the air box and is mixed in the carburetor. The mixture is sucked into the cylinder where the piston is. The piston then takes the mixture and compresses it up against the top of the cylinder where the spark plug is. The spark plug then ignites the mixture driving the piston down while a mixture has gathered in the crank case (the bottom of the cylinder) and that is compressed to drive the piston up. When the mixture is done it is then pushed out the exhaust port and into the exhaust pipe which makes the engine run.
