Valley High School Update
Demonstrating the Valley Standard in the 4 A's
September 23, 2022
Happy Homecoming Week!!
This has been a great week at Valley High School! The dress up days were great, Powderpuff saw the Junior class emerge as overall champions, the parade and carnival were a fantastic testament to the third of the 4 A's (Activities) as well as a great opportunity for students and families of all ages to gather and have fun, and the assembly was packed with dancing and games. We are looking forward to a great night of football vs. Marshalltown, hearing the Marchmasters, watching the Dance team and Cheerleaders, as well as the coronation of Valley Royalty. The Hall of Honor nomination window is now open to recongize alumni, volunteers, and Valley staff. We will finish the week with the Homecoming Dance Saturday evening, 7:00-10:00 PM at the Horizon Event Center in Clive. So much happening at Valley High School!!
As we look forward to next week, conferences are just around the corner and this is a great opportunity to touch base with teachers and make sure we feel good about the learning taking place in classes.
Go Tigers!!!
ACADEMICS
This is the perfect time to establish positive habits and routines for school success! Let's focus on being to class on time and practicing 4CP (Critical Thinking, Continuous Learning, Communication, Collaboration and Professionalism) in all of our classes and interactions.
In order to make sure we have a safe building for our kids and staff, beginning Monday, IDs are necessary to 1.) enter the building and 2.) eat lunch.
- If students forget their ID, they will either need to retrieve it from their car or home before entering the building.
- If they lose their ID, they will be escorted to the office for a new ID. The $5.00 cost will be assigned to their fee statement.
In order to help students make it to class on time, lunch deliveries are not allowed. We have learned that deliveries often arrive after the lunch period causing students to miss up to half the period. Students are encouraged to eat school lunch or bring lunch from home.
Watch for upcoming announcements regarding conferences and information to help connect with teachers.
