Principal's Message

Hello Indian Run Families,

Our Multicultural Day Celebration is this Tuesday, November 23 during school. We would love for more IRE families to participate and share a quick padlet video about your family. Please see below for more information on how to do this. We really want to make this a fun learning experience for our students.

Next week is a 2 day week. No school Wednesday-Friday. We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! We are so thankful for our IRE community!

Have a great weekend!

Amber and Marty

Quote of the week:

If you have men who will come only if they know there is a good road, I don't want them. I want men who will come even if there is no road at all.

Multicultural Day Celebration - November 23

Our Multicultural Celebration this year will be on November 23rd. On this day, we will learn about and celebrate the different cultures represented at Indian Run Elementary. In years past, we have celebrated by doing fashion shows, performances, and tasting food from around the world! We are taking our celebration virtual this year. We are also focused on how we can celebrate this year round.

We are asking that everyone at Indian Run and their families create videos to showcase their culture. This can look like sharing about your heritage, celebrations in your family, holidays, traditions, dress, food, language, and many more. There is no right or wrong way to do this! Just share about yourself.

We will be recording these videos on Padlet. Just click on a place in the world and start recording your video! The day we have our celebration, students will be able to watch other students from IRE share about their culture! How cool is that?

The instructions on how you and your family can participate can be found here:

1. Step by step direction sheet

2. Video tutorial

3. The WIRE 11/8 - Explanation of what we are doing @ IRE

4. Example Videos: When you are in our Padlet take a look at Sri Lanka and Japan for some examples we already uploaded :)

Thank you for your consideration in adding a video about your culture. We can’t wait to learn more about the students and families of IRE! Please add your video by November 22nd.

One Dublin

For nearly 15 years, Welcome Warehouse has been a resource for Dublin families in need. Their new name is now "One Dublin" which will not affect their current services; in fact, it gives them the flexibility to grow and adapt to the changing needs of our community.

Please reach out if you have questions. Their goal is to make sure students have what they need to succeed and to keep a family's small crisis from becoming a big one. Check out their new website that is listed below.

Dublin Food Pantry

IRE will be collecting non-perishable food items (canned soup is one of the most needed items right now) and/or new toys for the less fortunate. All donations can be dropped off in the main entrance and will be delivered to the Dublin Food Pantry. Thank you for supporting our community!

The SpongeBob Musical

Dublin Scioto is holding auditions for elementary and middle school students for their production of The SpongeBob Musical on Wednesday, December 8. There will be a required dance audition for everyone at 4:00 PM and then six-minute audition slots will begin after that. Please note that 8th graders are welcome to audition for any of the high school roles. The link to the high school audition materials is available in the children's audition packet.

Performances are February 25, 26 and 27th. Rehearsals begin December 13.

Backing tracks and the vocal score are also linked in the audition information for the children.

In order to give the children an authentic rehearsal and performance experience, they will be part of the rehearsal process at DSHS.

The world of Bikini Bottom comes to life in this feel-good musical about the importance of community and cooperation. Stakes are higher than ever as SpongeBob and all of Bikini Bottom face the total annihilation of their undersea world. Chaos erupts. Lives hang in the balance. And just when all hope seems lost, a most unexpected hero rises up and takes center stage.
