House Systems
This year, GHES has implemented the House System! This is a school-wide, positive culture based initiative influenced by the Ron Clark Academy. The goal of this system is to promote collaboration, teamwork, positive behavioral expectations, and support of all students and staff. Through morning meetings, students have been and will continue to learn about behavioral expectations, receive social and emotional support strategies, and develop leadership qualities that will help them become well-rounded, global citizens. Students can earn points for positive behaviors based on these elements from any staff member in the building. Not only does this help them as individuals, but their points count towards their House!
Now that students have been sorted into houses, they will remain in that house for the duration of their GHES career. We will have House shirt/color days, House competitions, etc., to continue to build our positive school culture. Each quarter, we have a friendly competition to see which house can earn the most points. We will also partner with PTO with community-wide initiatives. In the future, our hope is to partner students across the building for mentorship opportunities, as growing student leaders is our passion!
Be sure to check out the video below for more information on each house!
Congratulations to this week's STING Ticket Winners!

Morning Drop Off Reminders
- Drop off begins at 7:05. All students should be at school by 7:30 in order for students to be in class by 7:35. If you arrive at school at (or after) 7:35, you will need to park and sign your students in, as they will be late arriving to class.
- For the safety of our students, please have them exit the cars on the school side. We have adults along the car loop to help students out of their vehicles.
Afternoon Pick Up Reminders
- If your child(ren) are in grades K-2, please use the GHES car line.
- If your child(ren) are in grades 3-5, please use the GHMS car line.
- If you have children in both grade bands (K-2 and 3-5), please use the GHES car line.
- Car tags need to be visible. If you do not have a car tag, you will be asked to park and come inside of the building to retrieve one. Parents are also able to stop by the front office to get car tags prior to pick up. This is for the safety and security of our students, and we appreciate your cooperation!
Hornet Hero
You can assist your child by helping them complete the form electronically, or printing the form and returning it to school with your child. If you choose the hard copy option, please send it back in a sealed envelope labeled "Office: Mrs. Sanders." We like to keep these nominations a surprise!
A Message from our wonderful School Counselors, Mrs. Archuleta and Mrs. Costanzo
