The Summit SPARK
August 2020
Welcome Back
Dear parents and families,
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! Starting the year with Distance Learning was not what anyone expected, but here we are preparing for Chromebook distribution, virtual meet the teacher events, and staff professional development to ensure teachers are prepared to continue to meet the needs of Summit’s students and families through a virtual platform.
We’re living in uncertain times and COVID-19 continues to play a major part in our lives. As a result, preparing for the 2020-2021 school year has been unlike preparing for any school year we’ve ever known. We’re working hard to prepare for everything that needs to be addressed to keep our students and staff safe, but we know questions will arise. With that said, we simply can’t predict everything, so help us by continuing to be patient and letting us know how we can help make this a valuable experience for you and your child(ren) throughout the school year.
The best way for this school year to be successful for our students and the entire district is for everyone to pull together. It will take a group effort to make this school year the best it can be. That means everyone must abide by the health and safety guidelines of the state and the CDC. Wearing face coverings, obeying social distancing measures, avoiding large gatherings and maintaining good hygiene practices are essential to keep the virus from spreading!
Thank you for your grace, patience, and all of the support you have given us over the last several months. I’m looking forward to seeing our students’ smiling faces again soon and when we can all be in the building together, because Together We SPARK!
