GOOD LUCK, CLASS OF 2018!
As I sit and write this note, I am reflecting on the Class of 2018 and what they have brought to Southridge High School. They are gifted, academic, artistic, creative, athletic, dedicated, inclusive, determined, empathetic, thoughtful and caring. Our graduates have led our school with pride, and their work, dedication, and effort to improve our local and global community is an inspiration for all.
Under the banner of the Class of 2018 lies over 400 Skyhawks who are setting out on a journey that will take them to four year universities, community colleges, trade schools, the military, on mission trips, into gap years or the workforce. Each path into the future may be different, but the journey thus far has included Southridge High School. We are grateful for our graduates, for you, and for allowing us to be part of your memories.
As we enter the last week of high school for seniors, I know that the inspiration they give our underclassmen will allow us to be even better in the future. I also know that between today and Commencement, the friendships made will be reinforced with graduation parties, yearbook signings, pictures galore, and a few tears alongside the many smiles.
From our Skyhawk family to your individual family, we wish each graduate the best of luck, happy trails, and we smile with gratitude as we know that the Class of 2018 is ready to take flight.
Fly well, Skyhawks, fly well.

Year End Update
Finals, June 14, 15 & 18, 19. Schedule
Incoming freshmen can begin earning Service Leaning hours on June 20, after they have completed their 8th grade year. Visit the Service Learning page for more information.
Starting June 6, we will have only one lunch each day. All students will have 1st lunch, 10:50-11:20.
The last day after-school activity buses will run is Thursday, June 14. Until then, the buses will leave SRHS at 4:30 and 5:30 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Visit the BSD transportation web page to see the routes.
STUDENTS TO KEEP CHROMEBOOKS OVER SUMMER
Students who will be returning to Southridge next school year will be able to keep their Chromebooks over the summer! (Incoming freshmen will be issued SRHS Chromebooks in the fall.)
This decision was made to ensure that students will be able to utilize their Chromebooks through the very end of this school year, including finals, and to provide students who would not otherwise have adequate access during the summer with the tools necessary to get online and complete tasks. As always, we encourage parents to monitor student Chromebook activity and encourage positive digital citizenship over the summer.
QUICK TIPS
SEE MORE DETAILS. SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM FOR SUMMER TECH SUPPORT INFO.
1. All students will need to have their Chromebooks undergo a quick “check-up” during Advisory class before the end of the school year in order to have them renewed for the summer.
2. Students who do not wish to keep their Chromebooks over the summer will be responsible for returning them, along with their chargers, to the Southridge library during regular library hours.
3. There will be limited Chromebook technical support available at Southridge over the summer.
4. If circumstances change and your family relocates to another school, the Chromebook and its charger will need to be returned to the Southridge main office. Please note: a Chromebook still checked out to a student who leaves the school district will be remotely disabled, rendering it useless, and a $300 fine will be attached the student’s record.
Thank you to the community members who donated their time to give students a realistic interview and immediate feedback. Students report they understand the interview process much better and will be more confident in their next real interview.
PTO Supports IB Art HL Class Community Project
The students in IB Art HL Year 2 organized a community project where they taught art to 5th graders at three elementary feeder schools. Southridge PTO approved a grant used to purchase the art supplies needed for the project. Over 300 pieces of 5th grade art are on display in the Performing Arts hall outside the library. Great work by everyone!
