Student Highlights
All things start with good character
Brooke Batson and Brooke Tubbs
These two students have gone above and beyond in the library. They have both helped organize and move books into various genres. They have volunteered a significant amount of their time to help create an amazing library space for the students here at Coudy.
Communication is Essential
John Currin Jr., Marlhy Greely, Riley Mae Ianson, Emberlee Wilcher, Josie Drake, Kenna Bates, Brooklynn Lagrua, Boyd Faulstick, Avrie Shields, Mary Kate Heitzenrater
These students were selected in our Falcon 4 drawing. They did an excellent job demonstrating the Falcon 4.
Staff Highlight
Doug McClintic
During bus duty last week, I had an opportunity to watch Mr. McClintic's class release the Monarch butterflies that they had hatched in their classroom. It was so cool to see the butterflies emerge and take flight for the first time. Mr. McClintic even looked at each one to determine whether it was a boy or girl. I learned that the male butterflies have a black spot on their wings and the females do not.
Coudy Cafe
The Coudy Café is dedicated to serving nutritious meals that fuel our students’ bodies and minds. All students can enjoy a breakfast and lunch at NO cost. The staff works hard to create delicious and healthy options that meet dietary needs of our students. Don’t forget to check out the breakfast at the HS and ES. Ms. Michelle and Ms. Dawn are always coming up with great options for our students. Pictured are cinnamon rolls and yogurt parfaits at the High School, and the popular buffalo chicken wing dip at the Elementary School.
Student Writing Samples
First Grade
First grade learned about the invention of the ice cream cone. After doing some impressive writings, they enjoyed something sweet in their cones!
Third Grade
Colette Long, Jackson Smith, Jonah Rushmore, and Braelynn Cowburn
These students did a great job using different types of sentences and sensory words to write about the fall season.
Pre-K
The students in pre-K are starting the writing process. They learn to use different types of lines to draw and will use those skills to learn to write letters. These writing samples are laying a foundation so that they may be able to grow into beautiful articulate writers.
Fourth Grade
4th graders began the year writing about themselves and creating apps to represent their lives.
Fifth Grade
I write weekly letters to my students and ask them to respond to me in letter format. In honor of National Ice Cream Cone Day, our class enjoyed a special ice cream treat while sharing their letter responses. Here are the responses of some of my 5th grade students (Xander Brent, Carson Dunn & Adelynn Rimel)
