We are celebrating Black History Month during the February. At Barbieri we take this as a time to celebrate Black joy and excellence in a variety of ways. Please take a look at this information to share with students, these slides will be added to as the month goes on. Please reach out to the support team if you have questions about celebrating Black History Month in your classroom.
Every Friday morning in February we will be singing Lift Every Voice, commonly referred to as the African American National Anthem.

Good evening Barbieri Families,
As many of you know already we now have accquired an attendance email for Barbieri School: barattendance@framingham.k12.ma.us. Please send all messages to this email. Feel free to also include classroom teachers if you feel more comfortable doing so.
Michelle Woodall is our new Assistant Office Manager and she started Monday, 2/12, and will be here daily 8:30AM-4:00PM. Please join me in welcoming Ms. Michelle!
Wednesday (Tomorrow) we will celebrate Friendship and Kindness Day, WEAR RED (or pink or white) and I want to stress that there is no candy or food allowed for distribution. Students of course can continue to bring their own snack to school but they should not be sharing snacks or distributing food or candy as their class gifts/greetings for celebrating the day. NO CANDY NO FOOD.
We look forward to continuing to spread kindness this week!😍
I wish all of you a happy, healthy, relaxing and fun winter February vacation! Enjoy next week!

The window for ACCESS testing will open on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024 and will close on Friday, Feb. 16, 2024. ACCESS stands for "Assessing Comprehension and Communication in English State-to-State for English Language Learners." It's an assessment that assesses social and academic English language development in the domains of Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
Our ESL teachers will be administering the assessment. We thank you all in advance for recognizing the tremendous effort that goes into assessing our students and your collaboration and support in respect to ELD sessions.

Message from Framingham Public Schools Health and Wellness
We all need to do our part to ensure safe, healthy, and welcoming school environments for all. It is everyone’s responsibility to prevent the spread of COVID-19 as well as common winter illnesses, such as influenza, stomach viruses, and colds in order to protect the health of our students, staff, and community members.
Below are guidelines to help families decide when it is necessary to stay home. If an individual is experiencing any of the following symptoms, we ask parents to keep your child home, and for employees to stay home, for 24 hours after symptoms resolve:
Guidelines for Keeping Sick Children Home From School
Fever – Children should remain at home with a fever greater than 100 degrees. They can return to school after they’ve been fever-free for 24 hours (without fever-reducing medicine such as Tylenol (Acetaminophen) and Motrin/Advil (Ibuprofen).
Diarrhea/Vomiting – Children with diarrhea and/or vomiting should stay at home and return to school only after being symptom-free for 24 hours.
Conjunctivitis – Following a diagnosis of conjunctivitis, children may return to school in 24 hours.
Rashes – Common infectious diseases with rashes are most contagious in the early stages. A child with a suspicious rash should return to school only after a healthcare provider has made a diagnosis and authorized the child’s return to school.
Colds – Consider keeping your child at home if they are experiencing discomfort from cold symptoms, such as nasal congestion and cough. A continuous green discharge from the nose may be a sign of infection. Consider having the child seen by your healthcare provider
