Highlights from the Week of January 28 - February 1, 2019
- Students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grades have completed the interim assessments for ACT Aspire.
- The 2019 Walker EAST Conference Team has been announced. The following EAST students will be going to conference with their projects: Reese Cavitt, Anthony Franco, Will Wilson, Brody Reynolds, Emmie Reisinger, Taylor Ray, Isabel Sanders, and Jayden Manley. Our two alternates are Allie Gale and Sadie McClain. We are so proud of the work of all of our EAST students and the projects that each group developed and worked on throughout the school year. We can't wait to see this group of students share their EAST projects with the state.

National School Counseling Week 2019
Two outside agencies provide school-based therapy at Walker Elementary. Ozark Guidance and Youth Bridge both provide counselors and behavioral therapists to work with students during the school day at Walker. If you have questions about your child's social and emotional well being and are interested in starting school-based services, please call the school office and ask to speak to an administrator.

Safety Reminders for Parents and Visitors
All visitors to the school must check in at the office and present a driver’s license or state issued ID to obtain a Visitor’s Badge at all times. All guests must check in at the front office and this does include if a parent walks a child to the classroom before the start of the school day. These procedures are for the safety of all of our students and we appreciate your support in following them.
Our doors open for students at 7:20 a.m. Please do not drop your child off and leave them unattended on the front porch before this time. Our school day begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. If you are dropping off at 7:59 a.m., you will need to come into the school and check your child in as tardy.
To keep the flow of traffic moving, we ask that all parents use the car line to drop off students. We work to move our car line as quickly as possible and if everyone will go through the line, we can keep it moving and get everyone out faster.
Reminder to all EAST or G.T. Parents
Kindergarten Registration is on March 11th from 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Inclement Weather and Snow Day Procedures
In the event of inclement weather that affects our roadways, district officials work to make a decision by 6:00 am. School cancellation will immediately be announced on the district Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/SpringdaleSchools. Local news outlets will also be notified. In the event of a school closing, all extra-curricular activities, meetings, etc. are canceled for that day as well.
