September 8th - September 12th
What Are We Learning This Week?
Math with Mrs. Moore: We will continue working with numbers through the thousands next week. Students will practice and improve their skills composing and decomposing numbers through math workshop. On Thursday students will complete the math MAP testing in the computer lab. Results will be shared with parents at parent conferences in October. Look for homework to begin next week. Homework will have a yellow boarder around the page. Vocabulary for the week: digit, sum, equation, tens place, difference, number line
Science with Mrs. Naragon: We will continue our Earth Science Unit by looking at the causes of earthquakes, how they change the Earth's surface and how earthquakes and tsunamis are related.
Social Studies with Mrs. Naragon: We will continue working on building classroom relationships and team building skills. We will also spend time this week reviewing researching skills.
Language Arts with Mrs. Trueblood: This week we will be looking at persuasive writing. We will be reading short stories and completing graphic organizers, focusing on the art of persuasion. We will highlight persuasive words and phrases used when writing a persuasive piece.
PBL: On Friday, September 5th, we launched out first PBL (project/problem based learning). Be sure to ask your child about what they will be researching and planning, it is super exciting!

It is that time again.... we are on the hunt for lunch room helpers!! If you would like to help in the cafeteria, please click on the link below! Our lunch this year will be from 11:15-11:45 on Monday - Thursday and 11:20-11:50 on Fridays! Please come join us this year!
