FFA Success @ National Convention
The Reardan FFA team placed in the top 16 at the FFA National Convention on 10/26-10/29, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to bring home the Silver Award. Advisor Rick Perleberg said the team "knocked it out of the park." Their presentation titled "Will Washington mandate themselves out of the workforce?" was articulate, engaging, and energetic, he said. Andrew Schultz, Ashley Landt, and Tyler Clouse were pleased to see their hard work pay off as they worked on their presentation for over a year.

Safety Training for Staff - Debi Newsum
This week during our Monday staff meetings, staff participated in an automated CPR and "Stop the Bleed" training provided by our Reardan Volunteer Fire Department members Doug Bonstrom and Linda Dougherty. We would like to thank them for taking the time to train our staff on how to use these life saving devices. We know that hands on practice is the best way to learn, and that is exactly what we did on Monday. Thanks to Officer Brad for organizing this training.

Middle School Update
Students who had all of their assignments turned in and no office or bus referrals enjoyed a social for our October PBIS reward. Our ASB sponsored a snack bar, photo booth, card games and some line dancing, and 80% of our students earned this reward! For November we are having a t-shirt design contest. Students will be able to “earn” their Middle School spirit shirts by earning points for good grades, attendance, behavior, and participation in extracurricular activities like sports and clubs.
Our Middle School Band students are raising the bar as they work this fall on learning to read music and also on performance exams. Please encourage your band students to practice at home and turn in their practice slips to Mr. Goodman!
Conferences are coming up on November 21 and 22. These are non-student days–except for the scheduled conference time. Middle School students will be bringing home a letter with sign up times and a detailed explanation of how we are doing MS conferences this year. We are working on sharing our assessment data, goals, achievements so far this year, and our High School and Beyond plans with parents. Please ask your student for their letter next week.

Elementary Update
Parent Teacher conferences are scheduled for November 21st and 22nd. Forms have gone home with your students. If you need help accessing Skyward to sign up for conferences, please reach out to the elementary office.
No School November 11th.
Parents please help us at the end of the day! We know emergencies happen and plans change, however, the office needs to be contacted by 1:30 for any change of plans.
Elementary Bookfair will be held the week of November 14th-18th. Each class will visit the bookfair prior to the 21st to bring their wish lists home. Parents are welcome to come browse the bookfair on the 21st and 22nd during conferences.
The Elementary Office was visited by their favorite UPS carriers on Halloween. Barry and Barry (Evan McDonald).
