Big picture

What is Kruse PTO

PTO stands for Parent Teacher Organization, it's the group of parents and teacher representatives that meet to organize events and fundraisers with the goal to better support Kruse Elementary, it's staff members and ultimately your children.

New Wellness Room at Kruse

In an effort to support the social/emotional and wellness needs of the students at Kruse our school counselor, Alex Anderson, has converted part of his room into a wellness center. Students can take short breaks to do wellness activities, have mindful time, create art, or engage in other creative activities! Students can access this room through a referral from their teacher.

If you'd like to contribute to the Wellness Center we have set up an Amazon Wishlist for items Mr. Anderson would like to have available to the students.

How can I support or be involved with the Kruse PTO?

- Volunteer for a single event. There will be times that the PTO will be looking for volunteers to help out for a short amount of time during different events like helping with the bookfair.

- Bring in donations of food or materials. We will occasionally reach out to Kruse families to bring in donations for food, gift cards, posters and other items that help us serve the school.

- Come to meetings. Help us plan our events and ways to help the school and our kids thrive.

To be notified of opportunities to volunteer or bring in donations email Jen Koerlin at krusevolcoord@gmail.com

These are just a few examples, if you have a talent, a business or anything else that you see could benefit the school reach out to use and let us know. We are always looking for fresh ideas and resources to best serve the school.

Help us Spoil the Teachers during Conferences

On one night of the Parent Teacher Conferences the PTO likes to provide dinner for the teachers. This year, we are providing a Baked Potato Bar, if you would like to help us by bringing in toppings follow the link to the Sign Up Genius below. Spots go fast!

Classroom Wish Lists

The PTO asked teachers to create Amazon Wish Lists for their classrooms, the following teacher wanted to be a part of this opportunity. If you'd like to donate to one of the following teachers classrooms, click on their name and it will take you to their Amazon Classroom Wish List. The item will be sent to the school.

Coming Soon!

With the success of the last annual fundraiser we were able to raise enough funds to help purchase a new electronic sign for the school. In just a few months we should see our beautiful new sign up and ready to share important and fun information with the community.

Below is a picture of our old sign, which has stopped working, and a picture of what our new sign should look like.

Book Vending Machine Update

Last year the with the help of many Kruse family donors we were able to purchase a Book Vending Machine with the goal for every student to be able to get a book from it sometime during the year. The Chipotle Restaurant Night went a long way to stock the vending machine. We raised over $750 during that fundraiser, which allows us to purchase around 150 books!

Thank you to everyone that helped last year donations for the vending machine and this year during the Chipotle Restaurant Night.
