Happy Thanksgiving
Give thanks with a grateful heart.
November 26, 2020
I wish you and your families a wonderful Thanksgiving. Although this year we may not be able to gather as we'd like, and we have to forgo some of the Thanksgiving traditions we cherish, we are still given the opportunity to express our gratitude and count our blessings. When I stop to count mine, the St. Charles community is among them.
I start with the amazing faculty and staff of the school. I am inspired by their immense dedication to our students. Whether your children are learning in our classrooms or remotely, they are being supported every day by these dedicated educators. Please keep them in your prayers as they carry out their ministry of bringing Christ to your children, all while worrying about their own health and that of their families.
Secondly, I am grateful for the children. I love to see the joy in their smiling eyes above their masks, and I enjoy greeting our remote learners on their teachers' monitors. Seeing the children, even at a distance, is the highlight of my day. Thank you for entrusting us with your very special treasure!
Additionally, I am grateful for you, our school families. Your patience and understanding are so appreciated. You have partnered with us and abided by our guidelines, and this has allowed us to welcome our students into the building for sixty school days. The extreme caution of individually quarantining some children has prevented the possible spread of illness.
Finally, let's not forget our gracious Lord as we are counting our blessings. May you have an abundance of things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!
Blessings,
Cynthia Smith
